Just go straight to the source and buy Exxon. Exxon had a potential $500 BILLION investment in the Russian arctic. They were in the exploration phase (which was successful by most accounts in the media) when The Russian/Crimean sanctions dropped and they had to pullback.
How convenient for them that Russia was able to install a pro-Russia, pro-fossil fuel president. Exxon can't lose so long as Trump is still in charge. 12/13/2016 9:35:20 AM |

totally pissed about what he actually said, or the ridiculous clickbait headlines?
Quote : | "“There’s something different about what happened from Charlie Hebdo, and I think everybody would feel that," Kerry said in Paris, according to a transcript of his remarks. "There was a sort of particularized focus and perhaps even a legitimacy in terms of — not a legitimacy, but a rationale that you could attach yourself to somehow and say, OK, they’re really angry because of this and that.
This Friday was absolutely indiscriminate. It wasn’t to aggrieve one particular sense of wrong. It was to terrorize people" |
or at a conference about protecting the ozone layer:
Quote : | "Yesterday, I met in Washington with 45 nations — defense ministers and foreign ministers — as we were working together on the challenge of Daesh, ISIL, and terrorism. It’s hard for some people to grasp it, but what we — you — are doing here right now is of equal importance because it has the ability to literally save life on the planet itself. Week after week, month after month, year after year, we continue to see new evidence, scientific evidence, tangible evidence, of the danger that climate change poses to life on our planet. Last year was the hottest year in recorded history by far. Last month, the hottest month recorded. The month before that was the hottest month recorded. 2016 is on track to be hotter than last year. And the decade was the hottest decade in history, and the decade before that the second hottest in history, and the decade before that the third hottest in history." |

Flynn, the retired Army general tapped to serve as national security adviser in the Trump White House, "inappropriately shared" classified information with foreign military officers in Afghanistan, newly released documents show.
Although Flynn lacked authorization to share the classified material, he was not disciplined or reprimanded after the investigation concluded that he did not act "knowingly" and that "there was no actual or potential damage to national security as a result," according to Army records obtained by The Washington Post under the Freedom of Information Act." |

Dude, Sessions' former staffer destroyed Booker and Lewis and Richmond in his testimony in support of Sessions. 1/11/2017 11:22:50 PM |
moron All American 34141 Posts user info edit post |
^ That's how a lot of people see it, but his testimony was essentially "well he was nice to ME".
Said absolutely nothing in regards to sessions' record of opposing civil and voting rights legislation. Sessions own testimony on this was paper thin. He never could explain why he opposed these laws other than "I don't think that discrimination exists". His testimony about Alabama closing dmvs in black areas was embarrassing if you knew the broader context of those laws. He seemed like he had no idea what was on the ruling regarding NC voter ID law.
I generally like Lewis but his testimony against sessions was weak, his comments were too generally about civil rights movement itself. Booker gave a great testimony.
I think it's pretty clear though the GOP has zero interest in civil rights anymore, after seeing sessions testimony and the DHS guy. They seem to think the DOJ should be an advocacy group for police officers rather than a law enforcement system to serve the people, and the GOP senators agree. Hearing them talk, were in a crime wave with a drug epidemic of Mexican drugs. Not historically low crime rates with opioid abuse rampant in Appalachia.
We have justice department employees setting rules based on false perceptions of crime and violence against police, anti-Vaxxer in charge of vaccines, a guy who's basis for DHS policies will be "no drug use is nonviolent" (he said this), people against climate change research in charge of the environment.
This is literally the world of 1984 novel, where up is down and left is right.
This is what people voted for though, but I can't see how such a broad rejection of reality across the executive branch could ever lead to sustainable, beneficial governance. Maybe I'm wrong and there's some historical precedence for this where it works out. 1/12/2017 12:15:11 AM |
