but in all seriousness, that tournament was mine to win.
three bad moves at pots with marginal holdings oop, dropping like 80k chips when i knew i was beat. bad big stack poker.
Also, I qualified in a sat. for the 500k guaranteed (200+15) on sunday, but i dont know if i want to take a shot at a 3000+ player tournament, or just sell the seat for $200.
Watching a fellow poster on another forum I frequent take down 7th in the same tournament last sunday for >18k makes me want to play in it.
The other side of my brain says, youll never see that $200 again, you are way outclassed.
hmmmmmm

Quote : | "How can you sell your seat into a tournament? Is that a special option on PokerStars?" |
yes, there are websites that are devoted to selling/buying tournament dollars. on pokerstars its denoted as T$, which are usable in any tournament. IF you win a seat in a WPT or WS sat, it'll be W$. Both are transferable for whatever percentage of face value you negotiate. Most website companies will buy for ~85% and sell for about 90% of face value. Ive found some indivduals who will buy for more, esp. if they are planning to use them for thier own use. I mean, if its available, why not buy an entry to the 200+15 tournament for like $195? Save a few bucks.
When you win a sat, you must go to the tournament that you won the seat for, and unregister. Then in your cashier there will be a thing showing your current T$ and W$.
Pokerstars has an interface for the transfer that is almost instantaneous, and is very convenient.11/15/2005 1:49:24 PM |

i agree about raymer, the guy still had plenty of chips to fold with, kinda crappy luck. As much as I hate Matusow, i think he is a good agressive player with great reads, it's just that agressive players tend to get unlucky more often, even with good plays. And then i think that hashem's play was outstanding. as short stacked as he was, and just to come back slowly like so. Granted he went all in with Q7 and hit a Q against 99, but as a shortstack, you have leverage and luck on your side. I was happy seeing dannerman and hashem heads up. Dannerman is the poker guy that is always fun to be around and hashem plays good hands with the occasional bluff at good times. Aussie Aussie Aussie 11/15/2005 11:41:34 PM |

raymer pocket kings other guy (don't remember his cards) had 2 high hearts. Board read 2 hearts and 2 random cards. Raymer all in, guy calls with nothing but a flush draw with one card left, hits the 2h. I'd be pissed 11/15/2005 11:43:32 PM |
MacGyver Suspended 6745 Posts user info edit post |
Raymer had Pocket Kings, the other guy had like JQ of hearts, flop came like 259 rainbow and Raymer bet out a good bit, and the guy calls him with no pair, no draw, Q high. Turn came a heart that gave no straight draw, Raymer went all in on the turn, and the guy had one more card to come and his only out was a heart, and the fuck called him, and caught his miracle heart on the river, I mean, I know he had outs and all, but it was for a lot of chips. It was just a total shitty way for Raymer to go out. And yes, the pros dont make it too far because they have to deal with thousands of morons who dont know what they are doing for the most part. 11/15/2005 11:44:06 PM |

Hachem is solid.
I havent seen tonights episodes yet, but he dvr has got em saved for me. (was at the bar)
when hachem went in with Q7 i did see however, and wasnt it three or four handed at this point?
with the antes, blinds, and the possible steal, a Q7 suited isnt that bad of a resteal hand. With his stack, the size of the blinds, the antes, and the amount in on the raise, i feel pretty certain he was getting a pretty good price on a possible resteal. I gurantee he didnt want to be called there.
In the long run, he was what, a 3:1 dog? not bad. with that hand, you can figure to have a few live cards.
Restealing when shortstacked and no one wants to bust is absolutely key in a final table. its a good way to accumulate chips, when no one wants to bust, or lose a good bit of their stack on a possible marginal holding.
he just happened to get called, and caught a card.
but what do i know about tournament strategy.
(im finaly getting around to reading TPFAP =/, and need to read HoHE I & II)
It seemed to me that even the most hardened players were only playing solid as fuck all tournament, dodging minefields.
With the size of the field, and everyone gunning for them, you can do nothing else.
youd be better off as an unkown than have people gunning for you all week.

I hardly would consider Aaron Kanter a moron, considering his absolute obliteration of much of the online community.
I really admire what he has done.

True, I guess he isn't a total moron, but from most of the shit I saw him do, and what the commentators were saying, the guy pretty much got nothing but lucky most of the time. But like you say, you have to have "some" skill I guess to make it that far. And I agree with you, I like Hachem as a player, he looked solid the whole tournament. What all has Kanter done online? I know they said he is some online star. 11/16/2005 2:02:43 AM |
