Having played the best games released this year on the PC, PS3, and Wii, I can most definitely tell you it is a must buy for any PS3 owner.

and of course you haven't played the best games on the 360 or you would retract that statement. I guess its a 'must have' with what PS3 owners have to play with atm.

The best games on the 360 are Bioshock and Orange Box. So yeah, I have played them, and played them on a superior platform. Go fail in another thread please.

mass effect is p. cool, but other than that lets be serious. The only good games to come out on any consoles in the last year or so have better pc versions.

^^ Are you telling him he must be trolling in a PS3 thread where you do nothing but talk about how awesome the xbox 360 is? Seriously?

Until I get a mouse, I refuse to play a first-person-shooter on any console.

But in other news, I've been playing Assassin's Creed all weekend, and loving every minute of it. Being a completionist, I've only done 4 of the 9 kills so far, but I've done every mission, saved every citizen, and gone up to every viewpoint so far. I doubt I'm going to hunt down all the flags though... I went through that pointless activity once with Super Mario 64. Never again.

Uncharted isn't a must buy. It's a good game, one of those 8/10 titles. Good single player experience, but it's a movie you see once kinda thing. I sent mine back to gamefly and no way would I buy it.

However, I did buy Ratchet and Clank and feel that that and flOw would be must buys if you felt compelled to buy for a PS3. Burnout also feels better on the PS3 to me at least.

These are all opinions guys. Both mine and others in the thread. Keep that in mind - let the buyer beware.

You know you get all the same CoD4 online features on PSN as you do on LIVE, right?

It's better cuz you have to pay for it, then?

we both know that was weak. try again.

(on second thought you might not know since you obviously haven't played jack shit on Live.)

He is probably citing multiple reasons.

One chief one being that you have an established friends list that you want to play the game with. Live community is quite dynamic, extensive, and familial. There's something to be said for that tipping the scale as a considering with who you want to play with. All of my gamer friends IRL are on my list, various 'e-friends' who i've picked up through the years, and out of towner's. You get used to people.....I mean I have a ps3 friends list as well but it feels flat as hell. No one is ever on regularly, and you can't do much with it even in XMB.

I think if Sony adds more gamer features to the friends lists, and most importantly an XMB 'in game' which could include: in game messaging, invites, in-game status updates, cross game chat, custom soundtracks, it wouldn't be that far off at all. To me, XBL's biggest feature by far is in game messaging and chat, game lists so you know what games your friends have, and organizing groups to play anything a breeze. It takes nothing at all to scan what people are playing, join them in session, or invite them to something. Just hit X and bang, you're in. Playing Pac Man by yourself? All of a sudden someone invites you to COD4 death match. Bang, you're in. And so forth and so forth.

If Sony adds that, to me the PSN and XBL will be near equal. Granted, to get all of those features I bet you money that Sony will have to start charging something, maybe not 60/year like live, but maybe a 20/year. We'll see what they do. Hard to believe they'll attempt to match live's feature set then add Home with no charge. At that point I'd tip my damn hat to them...late, but better good than never. The x factor is Home. Home seems kinda polarizing in terms of how good it is - I don't like the look of it but it's billed to be able to make matchmaking and invites to games much easier. If that's the case, then what are the differences? Point is, for a free service, the PSN is actually good. And it's a rather open network with a lot of free content such as wallpapers and themes. But it can't stack to live when it comes to multi platform games. To go for the PS3 one when all other things about the games are completely the same....is just, well, limiting.

I shouldn't have to explain these things AGAIN but I feel like it bears repeating every time someone questions Live. I just think people need to explain the 'why 'better.

I understand all those things and agree 100%. I can only hope that the PSN grows up to even match Live's features.

SandSanta had just stated that CoD4 was better on the 360, and I was genuinely asking how. Then, of course Golovko had to chime in with his "LIVE RULEZ" comment. But I still don't see how that makes CoD4, as a game, any better on the 360.

Does the blu ray player in the ps3 work well? Just curious as I'm either going to buy a blu ray player or just buy a ps3 so i can play both ps3 games along with my 360 stuff. Basically I'm trying to decide if it's better to just buy a player or the console and comments on this?

Are you kidding me? Dude, get the PS3. It's a fantastic bluray player. Get the 40gig model and you're gtg plus have a game machine. Later on when titles start coming in it's a nice double benefit, plus there's a half dozen decent games out now to check out.

I am not sure exactly. I know when I imported a CD I could choose to convert to MP3 or AAC so it seems your MP3s should work. I have not tried using usb yet though.

I just TVersity to stream my stuff to the PS3... I tried to use my external hard drive but that was more of a pain than streaming it.

I also recommend buying the PS3 as a BLU RAY player... thats one of the main reasons I got my 40 gig version and I do not regret it one bit. my brother-in-law baught a $500+ player for Christmas and I could not tell the difference - at all. Why not spend less and play games. My wife just loves the ability to showcase our pictures on the TV with the slideshows the PS3 has.

your suggestion may be "better" but all you do is argue so no reason to think different. TVersity works great for me with no hiccups at all.

its fully loaded. and you don't upload anything. You just tell it where all your files are stored and it scans those directories for your music, photos, videos. the PS3 will automatically find it without having to do anything. On my wireless network at home i experience 0 lag with HD video streaming.

TVersity - dude is just being annoying as always. I looked up on AVS and there was nothing to indicate twonky is "better" - just more expensive (ie, not free).

If you want to do something easy, just d-load tversity, give access to the few folders you would want streamed.. cut on PS3 and it will be there.

you are like a little kid. dumb and annoying.

I've tried both hence why I have informed info. Not just something 'i read some where on the web'

just like I've got both a 360 and a PS3 so my opinion of both is well informed.

Twonky is the way to go. If you aren't ^

I very much doubt Golovko has a PS3; ive gotten the feeling from his postings that he just says he has one, just so he can hate on it without appearing to be a "troll".

Basically what I am saying is that he has no life. And I feel very sorry for him.
