that was a sick goal from Dos Santos but out defenders should be ashamed.

You try to contain 25 yards out, not 8 yards from the goal with the ball on somebody's foot. Put a damn tackle in!

Great game from Freddy! He looked like our most dangerous and consistent player on the field tonight. I just wish he used his right a little more. Teams will pick up on that pretty quickly.

Let me start...

FIRE BOB BRADLEY

I don't necessarily agree but this is a terrible finish to a fairly poor tournament.

Actually he hit that out of the air with his left foot even though he is right footed. Scoring on that shot is easier said than done.

Mother FuCK Bornstein. Dude was terrible. He was responsible for a few of Mexico's goals tonight.

Hopefully Bob Bradley will finally realize that Bornstein isn't national team quality. I don't know what it will take. Why he didn't have Timmy Chandler on the team I will never understand.

That could explain it. We could have used his speed. Another tournament that the US had the 2-0 lead in the championship and then blew it, just like the last confed. cup.

I'm pretty sure clubs are forced to release players for the confederation championships when the Confederations Cup birth is on the line.

This article seems to indicate Bradley left him off for various reasons. Whether they would have released him or not I don't know.

He's 21...they should bring him in for Olympic qualifying next spring. That won't cap tie him, but maybe it would be enough to make him want to play for the USA. If we can get to the Olympics then we can send the A squad to WCQ and maybe bring Charlie Davies back as one of the Wild Card players on the Olympic roster.

Adu was garbage all game. I can only assume that he was included to try to play speed vs speed. however, he had no touch and for some goddamend reason kept trying to take the defenders one on one.

That said, i am not placing blame solely on Adu. Our backs looked lazy the whole time, Howard has a terrible match, and our subs came too late, and made no sense to me.

Four unanswered goals, after being up 2-0, are inexcusable no matter what you think.

what game were you watching? Adu was far far far from being even near one of our worst players on our team. Hell, he was key in the buildup for the second goal.

i wanna know if edu fucked bradley's mother or something. the kid is arguably one of our best midfielders especially on the defensive side and he can't get any PT. even back in the world cup, he came on as a reserve. did I miss an injury or something?

Sorry I was at work and only got to watch the second half, and I watched Adu basically give away the ball every time he touched it.

So okay, IN THE SECOND HALF, Adu was garbage. That is not to say that we had a number of players that were shit last night. I still mostly blame Bob Bradley and his overly aggressive tactic when we were up 2-0 for giving back those goals so quickly. we HAD to get to the half at least with a lead, and instead we kept attacking and they got counters which we couldn't defend (I'm lookin at you, Tim Howard).

nah you're still wrong about Adu.

I agree about Edu - what the hell did he do to Bob? I thought for sure he'd come in the 2nd half after watching Jones/Bradley give the ball away the entire game. We really miss Holden's composure in that midfield and I'd argue Edu/Holden > Bradley/Jones at this point.

Bringing in Bornstein was dumb on two levels: he was cold and hadnt played a minute and Lichaj was forced to play a position he hadn't played all tournament.

^ I'm not sure if it was all on Bob's tactics that made us lose the lead. We just didn't have anybody that could settle the game down and keep some possession for us. Our two goals were against the run of play so it's not like we were dominating

It's pretty hilarious to me that Jones was supposed to be the second coming, and all these US fans made a huge deal about him finally switching nationality.... and he's pretty terrible

seriously not trying to troll, but that guy has to be the biggest letdown in history for the US team

you must have not watched all our games. He was arguably our best player in a number of games.

I guess you could still say he's been a letdown, considering all the hype he got for choosing us. But by US midfielder standards, he's definitely not terrible.

I never thought he was going to be the second coming of anything. US fans just get excited anytime there is an uncapped player that is good, or has some potential.

Howard's just being a sore loser. I watched the ceremony and he said pretty much everything in both English and Spanish

Tim should be more concerned about looking like a fuck head on the the last goal than how a ceremony was conducted

I don't remember being overly aggressive up 2-0. I remember not sandbagging because Mexico was going balls-to-the-wall and our back line was absolute shit. Keeping the ball in our half was the way to go. Mexico had a lot of counter opportunities in the first, but it wasn't the counter that beat us.

I guess Howard looked sort of bad on the first goal, but really he had no chance. Second goal he played right, he just got beat on a 50-50.

What's so bad about #3? Boca left a guy completely open eight yards from goal.

#4 was pretty silly, but you tend to get overly aggressive when you've been dealing with piss poor defending for an hour and change.
