holy crap! finally HOME after being on the road FOREVER
i have no idea where i'm at. plan to take my weight & measurements in the morning to get a read on where i'm at vs where i was when i left
i was stuck at a resort for 4 days in the ozarks & literally the only food was pizza & burgers. it was awful. the food was awful, the scenery was great.
however i did get in a serious amount of walking, 4 hours of kayaking, 6 hours of boating (including TONS of water skiing) & a full round of golf. so hopefully i won't be too far behind
i also didn't get as much sleep as im used to, drank around 30 beers/cocktails/glasses of wine in 10 days... which is WAY higher then i normally consume
so im back, back on the road next week but im making my own schedule so i can control everything. gotta get back on track before my next trip out to hawaii on aug 10 7/18/2010 8:05:28 PM |

^^You need to look into travel exercise equipment like elastic bands, so you can do some stuff while on the road and in your hotel.
Quote : | "two 334g scoops...thats what, 334/28 = ~12oz....24oz of powder per serving mixed with 24oz of water.....yea, I can't wait for that to settle
i could easily build a more cost effective and better for mass building meal using all whole foods and still weighing in under 3 net lbs." |
I use a blender with my protein shakes and they are fully dissolved/suspended in seconds, no matter what I put in there. Plus you can use hot water and you can increase the amount of solute possible for the volume of water.
What do you eat for mass meals? I'm stuck on stuff like Chicken/Sausage, Pasta, and Green Beans but will change if there's something more effective and still decently priced.

It's my birthday today, so I'm not staying on my diet today or yesterday
I did have a good chest and triceps workout at the gym today to make up for it somewhat 7/19/2010 8:01:45 AM |

Happy Birthday and enjoy the cheat days! You can't be "good" 24/7 and based on your pics, you can afford to stray from the diet for a sec. 7/19/2010 8:38:17 AM |

i have those, plus i do insanity on the road
the problem with last week was that i was working 16 hour days... and there was just no time for work outs period.
most of the time when i travel in my territory, i make my own schedule and can get a workout in. last week was a bunch of corporate stuff i had to do, i barely had enough time to sleep, shower & change my clothes before i had to run out the door again.
i didnt do my measurements yet but this morning i weighed in at 132 and i left for my trip at about 130 if i remember correctly. not bad.

was 208lbs in the evening today although I feel and look as lean as I've ever been, despite a lack of clean dieting...still eating at a deficit though

^i'm in your same boat!
my diet has NOT been the cleanest and some days ive been topping at 2k calories however i am making a huge effort to keep my weekly totals at <1700/day (per packmans advice, so im ultimately at a deficit) and i've cut out a lot of my drinking. and the results have been better than before!
im gonna kick it up a notch this week and eat a little cleaner and be more consistent on a daily basis and see what happens. 7/19/2010 8:40:39 PM |

favorite carbs: beans, oatmeal, brown rice, wg breads favorite proteins: whey, eggs, barry bonds chicken, steak, fatty fish favorite fats: lethicin, eggs, EVOO, fatty fish, peanuts + tree nuts
i'd eliminate most greens if you're having trouble stomaching all the food...they're not very dense, albeit green beans are a good choice for any diet plan. Its all about those calories though, not necessarily the foods. I'm able to eat ALOT in each meal, so 1400 calories of whole foods isn't too difficult, although for most, it is going to be. The hardest part is sustaining a large caloric surplus for weeks, you'll constantly be full and tired.7/19/2010 10:38:51 PM |

got a good weight workout in, but had to cut it short and left the gym with knee pain
doing some research on that, it appears to be just a sprain and is easily fixed with some conscious alignment exercises
I'm icing it right now and wearing an icy hot sleeve to bed to help with the pain
we'll see how it goes 7/20/2010 1:31:01 AM |

^^Word, thanks. They have some discount beans, but I usually hate beans . I'll look into buying a loaf of whole grain bread as well, should be pretty cheap cause they love bread over here.
Forgot to mention, for lunch I eat an apple and a sandwich loaded with lunch meat, and sometimes an additional snack.
I agree, eating enough is really hard right now. Definitely not getting all in that I need. Really frustrating when you eat a whole dinner and are still hungry
^how did you injure it?

Since I ate all that food Sunday and yesterday I have been sweating like crazy. I started sweating just from eating dinner at Outback yesterday. The internet says that means my metabolism has fired back up which is good (that or I have diabetes). I think I can keep my diet in check for 12 more days.
Oh and thanks for the birthday love

^^^^ It began hurting after a set of relatively lightweight squats and leg presses. It appears I have poor joint alignment where my knees sag just a bit towards the insides, think flat feet. I consciously started thinking about this today and made an effort to stabilize my knees with my leg muscles more and already seems to be feeling better (not so tender when walking). Still a bit sore though, so I'll be careful until it feels 100%. 7/20/2010 9:41:28 AM |

^^sounds like just a simple sprain like you said. I need to start being careful with the conscious alignment as well...I'm kind of wary of doing deadlifts without my hard knee brace when I get higher in weight. Fortunately my grip strength isn't where it needs to be and I'm limited by how much I can hold onto, haha. My knee lately has been pretty sore, I think especially after full-body and lower days, but I guess that's a good thing.
Once I get back in town, I can use my lifting straps when doing deadlifts and then I'll have to use my knee brace. Anyone use lifting straps for other exercises? I've found I can lift a lot more on stuff like bicep curls when I wrap the weight handle to my wrist, but at the same time I'm not too keen on cheating simply to get to a higher weight
^how many times a week? congrats on the drive to get there twice a day!

4 days a week M/T/Th/F i'm really hoping to see some progress going this route. i already have a metabolic disorder and i think after i turned 24 last year my metabolism came to a complete halt. so i'm gonna have to step up my game if i want to lose like i could when i was in college. 7/20/2010 10:07:39 AM |

that's the story of every girl i know (including myself). apparently between the age of 25-27 women's metabolisms change to prep for child rearing (which to me meant wider hips and more weight carried around my hips).
i always say it's easier to gain weight than lose weight but you seem to be on the right track. i do 2-a-day's on days when i know i'm going to go out to eat or will be having some drink of the alcoholic percentange.7/20/2010 10:54:37 AM |
