minnesota's run defense has been good all season and after giving up 100+ yards and a TD to Ryan Grant last week, I dont see them giving up much this week to Fargas 11/14/2007 12:32:33 PM |

Take a chance on Bryan Fletcher (Indy TE) over Scheffler, Pope or Jeff King?
I've been going with Scheffler of Denver, but he's just not producing. Fletcher could get a cheap TD or two for the Colts since Dallas Clark suffered a concussion.

Right now, I have the Johnson's and Galloway slated to start. But Jones vs Carolina and Galloway vs the Falcons are tempting. 11/14/2007 6:56:03 PM |

which defense should i play on Sunday?
Green Bay or Philadelphia?
I normally play Green Bay, since they're they best points producer...but they're playing Carolina on Sunday who are decent and the Eagles are playing Miami who appears to be the worst team in the friggin NFL.
Who should I play? 11/15/2007 1:04:11 AM |
Panthro All American 7333 Posts user info edit post |
Green Bay's, no question.
Yes, Carolina may be slightly better than Miami, but Green Bay's Defense is leaps and bounds ahead of Philly's.
THe Panthers will get down early, and be forced to throw right into the strength of GB's Defense, the pass rush and the corners.
Start Green Bay. 11/15/2007 8:43:07 AM |

I find it interesting that this thread seems to be almost all WSIS. There's not a whole lot of real information or general discussion about guys to go after and when players will peak, etc., it just seems to be constant lists of players with someone going, "Who's the best option?"
Just a thought. Not saying the thread is bad, by any means, just hoping it could diversify some. 11/15/2007 10:21:02 AM |

How about this trade:
I give up Addai
I get Selvin Young, Travis Henry, and Torry Holt
I personally like the trade so long as Young and Henry don't end up splitting carries... ? 11/15/2007 10:38:57 AM |

In my opinion you never give up marquee players for a string of mediocre players. 11/15/2007 10:51:10 AM |
ElGimpy All American 3111 Posts user info edit post |
Well the say I see it, Torry Holt has turned back into a low end #1 WR, so long as he stays healthy. And with Young/Henry I'm getting the starting RB for Denver's always solid running game. The TD's haven't been there...but Young/Henry have 911 rushing yards combined, to Addai's 760 11/15/2007 10:54:06 AM |
Panthro All American 7333 Posts user info edit post |
^ummm, but you would have to start both to get the 911 yards.
With Addai you only have to start one.

I didn't make the trade...I traded Ryan Grant for Joey Galloway
point though: They haven't really been splitting carries from what I've seen...so they totalled those yards individually...meaning had it been either one of them playing the whole time, it's not inconceivable that they would have similar numbers 11/15/2007 3:29:32 PM |

I doubt it. He's been out since like 2004. That's a long time. We'll see what kind of shape he is in and if he still has the heart to play the game. Also Miami sucks all around so I don't see him being a savior for the team this year. 11/16/2007 9:05:55 AM |

WR: Tough, I say Reggie Brown, I think Brown has about 70 and a TD.
QB: I say go Bulger. I really expect TB to establish the run and ride Graham and Bennett to the win because ATL's pass D is better than their very porous run D. That and last week the Rams O looked to be back in-sync with their skill guys back to 100%. Plus that SF secondary got abused by Hasselback Monday. 11/16/2007 11:25:45 AM |

eeeesh, i don't like that one for you, DROD. Peyton is still Peyton, regardless of a poor game. He'll produce better results. The colts will bounce back big time. Bulger is still a little banged up, and even though Steven Jackson is back playing like he can, the O-line gives neither of them the protection that I'd bet on to make it through the end of the year without getting hurt again.
Roy Williams is streaky at best. Some weeks he'll win games, some weeks he'll lose them for you. Kevin Curtis seems to be a bit more reliable, and he's got an arguably more reliable quarterback throwing him the ball.
i wouldn't make that trade. 11/16/2007 12:52:00 PM |

I need to drop a guy to pick up a K for this week, and someone dropped Reggie Brown so I'm going to try and grab him as well...which 2 of these guys should I drop:
Ike Hilliard Jerious Norwood Mark Clayton Ladell Betts
I think Norwood goes for sure, and I REALLY want to drop Betts b/c Portis has been pretty damn healthy all year (I have him)...but I just can't shake the thought of Portis breaking every bone in his body the second I drop Betts. Between Hilliard and Clayton is tough...I think we might have seen Clayton turn the corner last week and will finally start playing up to the potential everyone has been waiting for. Hilliard is nothing special, but he has actually been fairly consistent since week 4. Also I could just not pick up Brown, but he's basically had 4 solid games in a row, and could end up taking over for Curtis as the #1 (who I also have) 11/16/2007 1:19:25 PM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148450 Posts user info edit post |
probably Norwood and Betts...just be ready to grab Betts back if Portis does go down 11/16/2007 1:23:24 PM |
LudaChris All American 7946 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah Betts has been basically phased out of that offense, but at 30+ carries a game, Portis can only last so long.
And yeah I'm starting Andre Johnson this week, he had an extra week to get himself 100% so I expect he'll be back out there and effective. And I'm starting him over Donte Stallworth, David Patten, and Calvin Johnson. 11/16/2007 1:39:26 PM |

he'll probably play but i hope not cause i'm playing against him! 11/16/2007 2:54:06 PM |

I think one way to look at it is that the Cowboys' passing is great right now, and they are going against a Skins team that isn't so hot on the defensive side of things lately. The Steelers have a great D, and while the Jets will probably be playing catchup, and thus Cotch is a good option, the Steelers have been known to straight up shut teams down. They especially keep them out of the endzone, and that's where your real points will come.
I'd go with Crayton just because he has the highest potential, and the Skins will probably be keeping their top cover guys on TO, which may free up other options. Also, I don't like Witten as much lately to take away receptions and TDs. 11/16/2007 3:00:37 PM |
LapDragon101 All American 1034 Posts user info edit post |
^^ Westbrook is always on the injured list.
^^^ I have the same dilema as well and I have to play Crayton. I am mad cause I sat him last week and he had a good game and the previous week i started him and he didn't do squat. Hopefully he has a good game this week. 11/16/2007 3:02:27 PM |

Remember that getting consistency out of a WR is the difference between a WR1 and a 2 or 3. I mean, there will be those games when one players blows up, but the hard part is being consistent, week in and week out. With Crayton, Kevin Curtis, Ike Hilliard, Joe Jurevicious, Greg Jennings, or others like that, you never know if they are going to go huge or not at all. 11/16/2007 3:06:53 PM |
