the 3 run plays in a row in OT was some serious offensive coordinator genius shit. i'm glad we had a great gain on the first one. then 2 more tries in a row?! come on...

i had flash backs of repeated QB sneaks by Rivers at Ohio State.

Can't really say that. If we were up 6 instead of 3, ECU goes for a TD there at the end and probably scores with very little time on the clock.

From reading the coaches and players interviews after that abortion of a game, it kinda sounds like they mailed it in knowing this game didnt matter in the grand scheme of things.

All Obrien talked about was getting rest

RW said they played a good 2nd half of the game

Pretty sure the offense was terrible the second half RW....

This may have been mentioned, but I haven't read through the entire thread.

Yeah...it sucks to lose to ECU. I feel like we are a better team than they are. I hate ECU and I hate losing to ECU. That being said, this loss does nothing to hurt our chances at winning the Atlantic division. We were not undefeated, so its not like we just lost a chance to play in the BCS game or anything. We've got a big game coming up in a couple of weeks vs FSU. That game will likely decide who represents the Atlantic division in Charlotte this year. We can still win the division, and the conference. But still, it would have been nice to beat ECU. Dammit.

ECU really team, come on you can play better than that.

We do not have a choice. ECU is like an obnoxious little brother who whines when and cries that they want to play with their big bro's too (NCSU and UNC). So mommy (the NC government) says we must play with little ECU.

FYI it was actually legislated that we MUST play ECU every other year.

I still can't believe we played that awful. The defense was terrible in the 1st quarter, but played better and got some luck with the fumbles.

Last year at any point in the fourth quarter when we were down, I had full confidence in Russell Wilson. I don't have that any more. I thought he would've settled down after the VT game, but he's still throwing a ton of jump balls down field and forcing stuff into double or triple coverage. Also in the play calls I don't understand why we kept trying to run the ball to the outside. We couldn't do that at all at any point in the game and it never worked. Throwing some screens may have helped to open it up down field, but it was like Bible was calling the game like he was playing NCAA Football or Madden. Run to the outside and then when that doesn't work bomb it down field.

And I do agree with everyone on why the hell we scheduled this game at this point in the year. It does nothing to help us win or lose and gives ECU everything to play for. Dumb.

Does anything from today's game make you think that we should even be considered as contenders for the ACC championship. Hopefully, TOB kicks everyone in the ass over the 11 days that we're off and they get back to actually playing a full game.

does anyone think RW's been kind of spoiled with all the "he's better than sliced bread" talk? I mean, the fans, the media, everyone has put him on a pedestal and i think he's starting to believe it unfortunately. He just seems so cavalier now, especially this season, very uncharacteristic of him. Or maybe now after 2+ years of game tape, coordinators realize if they keep him inside and a spy on him he isn't going to kill them running. I don't know, 4 hours later and im still sick.

don't get me wrong, i'm not pessimistic, i just can't believe the trainwreck i saw today.

Never really understood why people say this. ECU is usually a competitive game and they're a geographic rival that fans of both teams get amped for. The regional rivarlies are what make college football FUN.

Do you want to schedule more home games against Gardner-Webb and Murray State that don't really do anything to improve the team nor anyone gives a shit about? It's not like Florida or LSU is knocking at our door to play us.

Why would our defensive coordinator care about Wisconsin's running game.

Jaybee...when you're used to winning how do you handle seasons like this?

Seriously...we're used to losing. We thought NC State might actually climb out of the doldrums of the nation's worst BCS conference not named Big Eastand be a legit team.

Granted, this has no impact on the nations worst BCS conference (Not named the Big East) standings, but we got worked by an inferior team (as usual) and probably should have gotten beat by alot more.

I just can't imagine pulling for a team that's actually a perenially decent club...i know State sucks and it still hurts losing

On the other hand, he may have forgotten after defending ECU so maybe they both should watch it.

You're right. We looked abysmal today. But I think that we can all agree that this game was not indicative of how good this team is. This was a bad game...plain and simple. We sucked major ass today. But we are a better team than that (judging from all our other games this season). I am not saying we will win the division...but someone's got to challenge FSU, why not us?

There's nothing wrong with the 3 run plays in a row. Problem is that after the dive worked like it did all night, they went with the stretch play that hasn't been there at all tonight twice in a row. Stick to what has been working

Just saying...Tennessee is generally a "elite" program that wins more than they lose. I know they haven't been good lately, but generally, they expect to win 9-10 games per year.

I can't imagine pulling for a team that should expect to win most games then lose. Heck, State sucks and I get pissed when we lose...

well, this season it was totally expected for Tenn. to suck, they are fucking god awful and its still better than what I was picturing for this year but they are SO young, over half of their starters against Georgia were freshmen, actual freshmen.

Just got to realize that everything comes in cycles. Its still a little weird to me to consider Ohio State, Florida and USC as really good teams cause they were really down during my formative years. UT was shit during most of the 80s and just happen to peak in the late 90s early 2000s when I was going there... and during that same time Bama was fucking god awful and now its the other way around.

State just needs to keep it continuing the next few years and gradually get better (which they definitely have this year over last) and not have a huge drop off like they did after Rivers.

well no, but we did come back from a 21 point deficit. the team I consider the favorite for the ACC Championship lost to a DivIAA team and had to come back from a 17 point deficit in one of their games

I just can't figure out why our offense goes lights out for the first half or so and then struggles to even make a first down for the rest of the game. Happened at UCF, VT, and today.

They did. ALSO, one of them tried to fight a lone state fan and was arrested. He then tried to fight five officers. While he was being drug down the stairs the students were going insane and cheering him on. It was as classy as it gets.

true story. and what's hilarious about it is that across the aisle from Sec. 13 with the WPC, when we yelled RED, this asshole turns around and is yelling at these people "Show some fucking respect, shut up, this is the anthem" DURING the anthem, while the EZU students were yelling....
