7 dead down here in alabama, this storm was a mean one. ipad woke me up at 115cst with the tornado warning but it was a radar indicated one that didnt touch down.

Ft Rucker, Al is still intact.

Was planning on heading up to DC today, but it looks like it'll be several hours of annoying stormy driving. Should I go, or not?

Maybe I wont... I mean it looks like the severe zone is my exact drive from here up to DC.

Still undecided. But I prob need to head out in about half an hour if I am still going to make it on time, factoring in some rain delays.

Sideways rain in Charlotte right now. Not much thunder or lightning, though. And no hail yet.

last week my schoolmates made fun on fb of the administration for sending out a tornado warning hours after the warning had ceased to be in effect

for today's storm they sent out a message the second that sucker was issued a day or two ago

Central Carolina Skywarn has not mentioned any tornado on the ground but the velocity product looks impressive. Severe T-Storm Warning now for Harnett, Lee, and Moore until 2 PM.

New TOR warning for Randolph County. Looks like that will skirt north and west of Asheboro. That is booking NE at 65 mph. TOR warning still going for Hoke.

New TOR warning for Northern Orange County or over Graham moving NE at 55 MPH. Impressive rotation on the velocity product. 80 mph shear in this storm. Yikes!

Has that been passed along to the weather service? I'm wondering who made that observation/report. The worst report I've seen is just a funnel cloud, no tornado on the ground.

Eh, 2 miles NNW of Graham ~ Elon

I kinda want to move my truck to an empty parking lot to get it away from my neighbor's huge oak tree right now.

Of course, if it hails the canopy from that oak tree could be a blessing.
