Gooch looks tired and slow, Torres has been absolute shit except for one good free kick, his passes have been bad and lead to Slovenian breaks.

first half thoughts/rants:

dempsey would have gotten a yellow, had he done that in the 30th minute instead of the 1st.

why can't we play our best game when we are favored in the world cup? it's like we can only play against the columbia's/portugal's/italy's/england's.

US defense/midfield is waaaaay too slow to close those holes. it's like we don't respect strikers from the top of the 18.

that first goal was a good strike, but he should never have that much time to set up. and poor howard got caught flat-footed on that one, but he shouldn't be put in a position to have to make that save to begin with.

after that first run down the side by findley, i thought we'd be ok, but we never woke up in the first half until around the 35th minute. torres' penalty was a nice strike, and if that ball took a deflection back into the box, donovan was right there for the put-back. unfortunately, we had to settle for the corner on that play.

that pass across the box to donovan was a sure goal, if it wasn't for a good deflection for the slovanian defense

donovan is crashing the post's well, and he'll put one in if he get's another shot, but who knows if he'll got another chance.

that yellow was complete crap

one final defensive breakdown really put is in a steamer right before half.

soccer haters are going to see us losing to a bunch faggy little charlie brown's, and reaffirm their hatred for the sport.

now we're in the position for "hoping" for a draw.
