Devil May Cry 4 was pretty cool. Maybe it's because I'm used to the eye stabbing difficulty of DMC3, but it seemed pretty easy. I pretty much went through the whole demo without getting hit once. Hopefully the difficulty picks up a bit in the final release, but I'm pretty sure I'll be getting it day one.

The Club demo surprised me. Granted, it's still mostly an exercise in fighting the controls (like any console FPS), but the premise was pretty cool and I thought it was really well executed. This one could be the sleeper hit that no one is talking about.

DMC4 seemed a little boring to me, and the music was annoying (hopefully its different in the game). I haven't ever played the other ones, so I dunno. Seemed like a weak version of God of War with guns and poor camera angles.

So I've been waiting to get a PS3. I just got my bonus and am ready to make the purchase. Now come all hese rumors that Best Buy is going to stop carrying the 80 Gig version, and potentially the 80 Gig version is disappearing permamently along with any support of backwards compatability.

I called two local Best Buys, and the first says that sure enough they don't any longer have teh 80 Gig SKU listed in their system, but he's not sure why. An employee at the other Best Buy said that the 80 Gig bundle is going away, so they're going to stop carrying them for a month or so, but that it's coming back after that, without the game included, with a price drop and backwards compatability.

Anyone work in the retail chain and able to confirm any of the rumors. I'm ready to drop the cash on the PS3 and Rock Band, and need to know if I shoudl pull the trigger or wait another few months.

BB discontinuing the 80GB SKU most likely means it's discontinued everywhere. No official word from Sony, but I'd go ahead and assume the writing is on the wall for this one. There has also been no word on a future SKU with PS2 BC. If you absolutely cannot bear the thought of owning a PS3 that can't play PS2 games, then go ahead and grab an 80GB. With that said, I'd say the chances are pretty slim that there will never be a future SKU that implements PS2 BC, but there is no telling when that would come or how much it will cost.

my gathering is that likely theyre trying to wipe these 80gigs out and they'll release a new 80gig bundle later. possibly w/ the DS3 controllers and possibly w/ the newer 65nm chip which is cheaper to make.

so I finally set up my media extender for my ps3. I like how you can copy stuff directly to the ps3 harddrive from the computer. I have a 20 gig ps3, though...so I may need to get a bigger harddrive and upgrade.

I could care less about obsolete memory cards or HD upscaling. The nicest thing about the 80gig PS3 with PS2 backward compatibility is that the controllers are wireless. And wireless bluetooth so they don't require line-of-sight.

If they would make a slim PS2 which used the PS3 bluetooth controllers, I would be happy with it... however as it stands, I love my PS3 80gb.

Sadly, this doesn't look near as good as Uncharted. Although, a game that combined Uncharted's combat with TRs platforming and puzzle solving would be pretty awesome.

^^^ Stone, I got one for Christmas... I was really surprised how good Ratchet and Clank was (fun to play and good graphics) and Call of Duty 4... I would have bought the PS3 just to play this game online. The single player game is short, but REALLY good and if you play on a hard setting should take you a little longer to finish.

Go to youtube, and type in exooutsider and change the thing beside it from video to channels and hit search, you'll have to sort through it all, but there is a video called something like call of duty 4 glitch name color change or close to that, and it'll show you how man... Put up your gamertag and we'll play a game sometime if you want, that game is addictive...

God of War 3 is already being worked on by Sony (probably Incog). Eat Sleep Play (Jaffe's company) is not going to have anything to do with it. And both games are actually scheduled for release the end of 2009.
