Governor - Batshit crazy. I think it's fairly obvious to assume that the Gov is crazy and that is why he makes the decisions he does. He had some belief that there's something of a zombie's former self in them after they turn. When Michonne showed up she had her two zombie friends that were "trained". I think that's the half of the reason they were saved, the other half was Merle hoping to find out something about his brother. In that same episode the Gov met with the science guy and that is what they were excited about.

Next we see the Gov brushing his daughter's hair and pretending that she was still his little girl. Then we see his fucked up trophy room full of Futurama zombie heads. After that there's the scene with the dying guy and the experiment to see if he can retain any of his humanity after zombifaction. Then's the breakdown he had when he thought his daughter was paying attention to the music and he realized it was the bowl of meat.

I don't think he would tolerate anyone who wasn't willing to go along with his insanity. The military guys sure wouldn't. In fact if they had come to town the townsfolk might start to trust them instead of the Gov. The same with any outsiders in a decent size group could build support for themselves and take over the town. So the Gov rescuing a person or two here and there build support and loyalty to him and only him.



Michonne - I'm pretty sure Andrea said something to the effect that "I don't know anything about you, but you know a lot about me." I may be wrong, but I really thought that was said. Michonne does't trust folks. The one person she did trust betrayed her. I'm also pretty certain that Andrea didn't have the nicest things to say about Rick and the rest of the group. So with that in mind it's kinda safe to assume Michonne thought it wiser to keep her mouth shut and see who she can and can not trust. Besides her whole plan was to come back and kill the Governor for what he did to her. So why say something to complicate that plan?


Carl and Glen - thank you for becoming bad asses.



Also the second Darryl says he'll be the last one out you knew he was getting captured. The moment the Gov said Merle was a traitor you knew it was trick for Darryl's benefit. Hell Merle even talked about it earlier how he could turn Darryl so they could have a "man on the inside". That was completely disappointing plot wise. They might as well has held up big flashing arrows stating the obvious plan. Might as well have built a fucking horse to hide them in and place them in front of the prison.

I'm not seeing it. Carl is kind of getting there but it's still tough to get past the retard he was just a half season ago. Glen is pretty cool since he's always been willing to take on trips away from camp to gather food and supplies but he's just not nearly at the level of Rick/Daryl/Michonne. I know I'll probably get some shit for liking Michonne but whatever.

The Governor is probably a little pissed that he just got stabbed in the eye by Michone after Merle had told him they killed her but lost her head when a group of walkers overtook his group. He doesn't strike me as someone who deals well with his people lying to him.

I disagree, If you haven't read the comic books, it's completely reasonable that the governor could think Merle is a traitor. He failed to kill Michonette, he failed to stop Rick's team from getting in and let them out, and he let Glenn and Maggie go. For all he knows, Merle could be a traitor.

Yeah I don't see it being reasonable. It's like still watching an M. Night movie and still being surprised there's a twist. Comic reading or not. The writers telegraphed this.

Carl, maybe it's the difference in what he was last year throwing rocks at zombies and running off into the woods anytime he got his feelings hurt to shooting Shane and his mom. Ran off own his own to get supplies and told his mom that he didn't have any issues and yeah he killed a zombie while he was out. To staring down Santa Hershel to move and let him rescue some folks. Rescues them and then proceeds to lock them up so they can't hurt his group. Maybe not to a Daryl level of bad ass, but miles past where he was.

That stuff seemed tacked on and way out of character. The zombie arm shank was actually pretty lame in my book. And lets be honest tougher people have been eaten by zombies but Glen and Maggie get taped up and are still able kill the zombie and get away. Didn't work for me. Glen might have held under the beating but everything else failed to impress me as something that would/could actually happen.

I didn't see it being too out of clever for Glen. He's consistently the one that has gone on supply runs, and I'm sure he's had more than a few close calls with walkers. That coupled with his determination to survive for/rescue Maggie motivated him to survive the walker attack and try to think of a way to go on the offensive. I think the only reason it's out of character is because we haven't really seen Glen forced to handle zombies or other humans this way before. His back was literally and figuratively against the wall.

Yeah, i really like the character development in this show. Which is why i don't subscribe to the assertion that "the writers haven't given much thought to the governor's mind" argument that a few were trying to argue on the previous page. I think they're giving a lot of thought to all the characters.

I'm not saying shane was a side character(the rest were) but he wasn't likeable. The show made him the devil. you knew what time it was . Honestly though that's when the show showed balls by having Rick kill him. instead of shane escaping or starting his own group.

It's almost an entirely new cast since the show started, the only original "main characters" are Rick, Carl, Daryl, Glen and Carol. and Herschel and Maggie. But I'm sure at least one of these main character will die soon, probably several.

it just annoying me because of no good surprises. I had the same issue with the Sopranos after a while.

I just couldn't understand how a show that portrays an environment of people dying hard in random ways, why it was so afraid not to kill off the main characters. Do you know how many episodes I watched to see if Christopher dies
