Cool. So you're saying you got a lot more in than that on Tuesday? I need to go to Schoolkids. Been hard to get to ever since I got out of college. Just looking for a "good" record store. I guess the "best in the area" essentially...

the only day of the entire residency i was going to be able to attend was Friday, so i was happy to get the word there were a handful back on the market.

i think there were between 15 and 20 re-released for that Friday show and that those shits were gone in 15 minutes.

stu, missy thangs, and one of the other dudes in LL whose name i don't know (i think it was nick) just came in the store and seemed super pumped to be back in raleigh. for some reason that made me really want to go to one of those shows; homecoming shows are fun.

heard from a few people that smith westerns were great tonight...glad to hear it

maybe they just hated the chapel hill crowd that night, which is understandable since raleigh is infinitely cooler than chapel hill

damnit.... had Smith Westerns at Kings and Ponderosa at Lincoln and i didn't go to either fucking one.

i'm just too damn old to properly binge drink two nights in a row these days. i found that out at Hopscotch last year.

death cab tickets presale code is "crooked"

you have 4 more days to contemplate whether its worth $40 before tickets go public.

Also looking forward to Interpol, despite the venue (have an extra ticket that I'll let go for a few bucks below face if anyone wants it)

May go see Wintersleep Saturday at Kings...I dig some of their stuff but curious how it will translate live.

^^ I'd love to see Frightened Rabbit again, but I can take or leave Death Cab... In that case, I don't think it's worth $40 to see them (FR) as an opening act. They rocked Cats Cradle last year with Bad Veins and Maps & Atlases opening up for them, though.

Also, I was upset that Neko Case cancelled her show at the Art Museum last year. I was looking forward to that one, but she said she'd try to come back soon; maybe that's the Charlotte event

Maybe if you had those tickets 10 years ago

I honestly haven't really enjoyed Death Cab since Trans. Last time I saw them with Stars though was a pretty good show. (2005?) but I really have no inclination to see them again.

no way neko case didn't sell a lot of tickets to a show in raleigh. raleigh eats up those female alt-country singers (case, alison krauss, lucinda williams, etc.). at least from my experiences working at schoolkids; that kind of artist sells pretty well, especially neko case.

I liked it...although not NEARLY as much as when they played with Blonde Redhead several years ago. Super long set with 4 encores...only complaint is they didn't play enough of Turn On the Bright Lights. Which I was expecting to an extent...but they didn't even play NYC

Had an awesome time at Slim's tonight. Fun hanging out with Mr Scrumples a tiny bit(thanks again for the ticket), vinylbandit, khcadwal, and tommy wiseau aka rodney beets.

Love Language covered the Velvet Underground's White Light/White Heat unbelievably well for the first set, did their songs for the second set. Best Love Language show i've ever been to, bar none.

i told everyone before the show that it was either going to be amazing or be an entertaining disaster

they totally blew away my expectations. that VU set was as good as any cover-up set i've ever seen. extra points to crowmeat bob for the otherworldly sax.

especially glad to see LL after so much touring lately; just like valient thorr, they've gotten super-tight and it makes their songs that much better
