I heard snow tomorrow as well, but nothing like the storm that went through yesterday/last night.

Have fun with that, plant. Woo, working from home!

yeah i find it hilarious my plant is opening at 10 am, all to simply show face to upper management for bad end of month production numbers.

I think tomorrow is supposed to be less than 1/2" of snow (if that). I'm just wondering how much melting we see today in the couple hours we actually get above freezing. This one could stretch out a few days if the roads dont clear out today

Anyone know what kind of condition I-40 is in? Just saw some traffic shots of 440 near Glenwood and it looked pretty bad.

There isn't any traffic. But you can tell the roads are super slick and not clear. That's what I was implying.

Even though they are calling for above freezing temps. With the ice on the ground, temps aren't going to make it

probably just enough to put a nice glaze on everything as it re-freezes but not enough to clear anything.

we just did some sledding down the hills in our neighborhood and everything is still a solid sheet of ice. It's only supposed to get above freezing for an hour or two today, but if the sun comes out it could melt things down a bit. But like dtownral said, it's just going to re-freeze this afternoon and tonight.

I bet we'll see a bunch of delays tomorrow at the least

Just drove from Crabtree to holly Springs. 440 was in great shape. Most secondary roads were good too. Just wet. I guess we will see how much of that dries or refreezes

There's a policeman stuck in front of my house right now on a road that was definitely salted.

And I couldn't even make it around the house to take the trash out. Made it halfway, legs started sliding apart...I figured I could hang in and make it down there, but I'd have to crawl back up. Plus, it would be a pain to get the frozen trash can open while also somehow not slipping and breaking my neck.

The only vehicles I've seen successfully traverse the road are trucks, and they're moving along easily.

I tried to walk to work today but ended up getting stuck moonwalking up a hill. Just sheets of ice on every surface. Gave up and defrosted my car instead... to be basically go across the street.

4wd and MAIN roads are the easiest and safest ways to get around right now. The interstate is good to go for the most part...will be interesting tonight, but they know where and what to plow/spray.

If there's any added precip, they will prolly call off work till Friday. A one day school week. Impressive.

I may have overindulged in a Rizzoli and Isles marathon.

Never particularly interested in this show, but it's what was on when I turned on the TV, and then I got mesmerized.

^That's sweet.

Forecasts include possible "snow squalls" for tomorrow in isolated locations between Piedmont and Triangle between 4-6pm. Could be fun!

I don't envy those on the east coast. It's 62 here in the San Diego area, and I'm cold. This Florida native isn't built to handle cold temperatures.

I will say that East coast "south" wise, WV and VA do an amazing job with snow/ice.

Guilford County Schools already closed. Nothing really has melted here, and they've not plowed any secondary roads.

I just went out n about and a lot of the secondary roads aren't that bad, but most of the neighborhood roads I saw (including mine) looked pretty shitty still. Plus when you factor in a low of 20 tonight id guess Wake kids get another day off

our street is pretty well melted in front of my house, but there are shaded parts up a slight hill that i have to drive through to get out (it's a cul-de-sac)...i'll bet money it's a sheet of ice tomorrow morning

i already told my boss i'm working from home

it was fun watching the kids sled down the road, though...it's long and straight and they were getting up quite a bit of momentum

My road melted a fair bit today, but it's still 75% covered in ice. Really don't see my car making it up the (very minor) hill tomorrow morning on my summer tires (inclement weather car is in the shop, dammit).

Might have to work from home again.

I think it's more that my county probably gets too much money to pay those guys. I used to live on a <1 mile long dead end dirt road and those fuckers would grade that shit at least 4 times a year.

Also the interstate in Roanoke was a huge mess this morning, so I don't think they really did a great job. Granted they had more like a foot of snow, but still.

Roads seem fine in Charlotte. Most of them were pretty dry coming home, so re-freezing shouldn't be too much of an issue over the next few days.
