For page...whatever

^In that case you might not get the full benefit of the workout. And its not like its a full out meal, its meant to be just the size of a protein shake or so to get your body the nutrients it needs right then.

Quote :
"How long after my workout should I eat my post workout meal?

Soon... really soon. As soon as you can. I don't mean put-down-the-dumbbells-and-start-eating. It doesn't need to be quite that soon. However, there is this "window of time" that exists after your workout during which it would be the most beneficial for your body to receive it's post workout nutrition. Typically you'd want to try to get this meal into your body within 1 hour. If possible, within 30 minutes would be even better. I personally have my post workout meal about 5-10 minutes after my workout. What's that you say? How can I do it so fast if I'm at the gym? Don't worry, more on that later. "

Quote :
"To finish this article up, here is what I do. Before I leave for the gym, I put everything I need inside of a shaker bottle. A shaker bottle is just a plastic cup with a cover and some type of "blending" piece inside. You just put something in it, add water, and shake it for about 5-10 seconds. It is simple and extremely convenient for your post workout meal. I put in the whey protein powder, dextrose, 5 grams of L-Glutamine (more about L-Glutamine), and 5 grams of Creatine (more about Creatine) and take a bottle of water with me.

After my workout I get into my car, open the shaker bottle, pour in the water, shake for 5-10 seconds and drink on the ride home. The whole process takes less than a minute and the whole "meal" is finished in a matter of minutes if I take my time. There you have it... quick, easy, convenient and contains the best sources of everything my body requires post workout. "

Yeah i drink a protein shake on the way to my workout, and on the way home. Then run for an hour and eat dinner. If you can only do one protein right after your workout is the best.

^^he's really just talking about a protein shake. I can do that no problem.

So I guess I'm okay having my dinner 2 hours later?

I'm considering purchasing some medicine balls too. 5 pounds seems good for now. Been doing a lot of exploding push ups alternating hands on the 5 pound.

Also seated oblique toss, overhead wall slams, side wall slams, one leg squats, front lateral raises, and a couple others.

By the end I feel like that ball weighs 100 pounds.

i feel pretty good.
arms are starting to tone up a LOT.
i'm really bloated this week (do i need to explain?) but hopefully next week i'll be able to see some more definition.
my diet-better, but still needs improvement.
i need to watch my binges

and on a related not, i feel like ive lost definition in my abs, i dont see the four pack i used to have, however the little definition i do see is MUCH MORE defined that it ever has been.
which makes me think im just gaining muscle. not sure though.
however the V-cut just below my abs have been SHINING lately. not complaining though

I don't feel like much has changed since the last ones I posted despite dropping a few pounds. I also still have no idea what my goal weight is. I have felt pretty bloatey this week so I think I need to watch my sodium intake.

Here's my wee muscle bump

Here's a question for you guys. Does anyone deal with a sort of exercise-induced anxiety? I never have in my life until the past two weeks or so. As some of you guys know, I played basketball the other week in the heat and foolishly didn't properly hydrate myself so I had some heat exhaustion that cut my exercise short.

Since then, even when fully and properly hydrated, after I'm done with a run or basketball games I tend to get the lightheaded feeling and a bit of tunnel vision immediately after the exercise and sometimes near the end of it when I'm winding down. Nothing that physically hurts but rather just an uneasy feeling.

I push through it, but it's not the best feeling in the world and I think it makes me subconsciously push through my workouts at a quicker rate than I should. Also, I don't have any other persistent anxiety related issues at any other time other than the normal stress factors that EVERYONE feels. Anyone deal with exercise-induced specifically in the past and have any idea to push through it, or it just a thing that will go away with time as I get further away from the heat exhaustion thing.

Has your diet changed at all? Maybe you need to eat more in general or closer to your workouts if you are having that happen. When that happens to me it's usually low blood sugar-related as far as I can tell.

^^ For you, of course!

^^ Happens to me if I've taken some kind of muscle relaxant like soma, flexeril or valium within 6-8 hours of my workout. Even if I don't mentally feel the effects any more, my body is still in a relaxed state, and I can't handle the physical exertion as well as I think I can.

Also happens, to a lesser degree, with Seroquel or Quepin...with these its less of an anxiety and more of a sense of weakness, like I can't lift the same weight I normally do. A weird and uncomfortable feeling. With Wellbutrin, its just an all over feeling of uneasyness thats quite unpleasant...it basically prevents me from working out in any way, with the exception of light cardio.

I generally try to avoid anything but amphetamine salts near a workout...anything else else just makes it too complicated.

weight is around 204lbs...still muffin topping like crazy and not too much ab definition, when I lose fat, it comes from everywhere but my midsection...just gotta power through but I probably will end up drooping even more with loose skin

i feel terrific though, very strong and energy levels are pretty good until 10pm

^^^ I don't take anything, ever, aside from a Tylenol PM if I'm super sore or sick. It's not that.

In any case, it's not the end of the world. I just push through it and if it gets bad I sit/slow down. The reason I think it's anxiety-induced is because since the heat exhaustion it only happens outside in the heat. I can lift or play basketball inside with no problems at all.

^^ Yeah, I'm having the biggest problem losing that area too, but I admittedly have been drinking too much beer. I'm going to try and cut back starting this weekend...

porcha, you have done an amazing job - don't let the "muffin top" get to you (and even so, I don't think there's much there)

not as far along as I'd like to be, but at least I'm not going backwards

I'm only down ~3lbs since the last time I checked in, but with life the way it is right now, I'll take what I can get.

I wish I wasn't so hippy (as in birthing hips, not tree hugger):

still need to work on the lower belly pooch and the bra muffin top:

and unfortunately I think my weight loss is coming from my booty

aaaand sorry to be mean muggin' but dang I'm tired and stressed out
