Ya but that was against the NYG. Their defensive line is not too shabby either. I also think since Minn is most likely out of the playoff race this year they may also not chance AP to hurt himself more. Another week will not hurt and they have a quality second back why chance it since it is a knee injury and they would love to have him healthy later and have another great year next season. At the very least limit his carries.

pick 3:
anquan boldin
santonio holmes
nate washington
calvin johnson
tony gonzalez

holmes/washington will depend on if holmes is healthy or not.

pick 2:
willis mcgahee
reggie bush
the other AP
derrick ward

i have to score a ton of points this week, the bottom playoff spots are determined by breakdown record and i pretty much have to have one of the top few scores to make the bottom spot of the playoffs.

any sleeper DST suggestions? i have the jags and am a bit worried about the colts O, even though manning has been off. most of the DST's are taken, so the only ones i could grab would be:

texans, falcons, saints, eagles, dolphins, browns.

i'm actually thinking about the saints, falcons, or dolphins. bulger is out and garcia might be as well, and the dolphins have been better in recent weeks and get the jets.

a big game from the kicker would help too, but it always seems so random which ones will have a good game.

yeah i'm in a sportsline league. it's funny how conflicting the sites can be sometimes. i've seen several cases where one site's one-week bust is the other's one-week stud.

another thing i'm debating is who my 4th keeper should be. the first 3 are most likely drew brees, willis mcgahee, and reggie bush. (QB are huge in our league and it's a 14 team league so most are gonna be kept).

i think i want to go receiver, so i have to choose between santonio holmes, anquan boldin, and calvin johnson. holmes or boldin might be better next season, but i think calvin has a good chance of becoming a fantasy stud in a couple years and i don't want to miss out on that if he does. i also have michael turner, who could be really good depending on where he ends up but i don't know about keeping 3 RB's. I also want to try to get mcfadden w/my first pick in the draft if he's there.

Miami hasn't allowed more than 17 pts in like 5 weeks. I picked them up this week since Baltimore (who has sucked overall) is playing against Brady and company.

Pick two RBs and one for my RB/WR flex spot:

RBs:
Willis Mcgahee*
Jamal Lewis*
Kolby Smith*
Lendale White
Selvin Young
Ryan Grant (damn, why didn't I play him last night)
T.J. Houshmandzedah
Reggie Brown

* are my starters

I like Kolby over Lendale and Selvin Young and even Housh this week. Housh is a sure 10, but Kolby has a higher potential. Selving Young could be huge, but who knows if he'll play much. I don't trust Lendale after the last 3 games.

Since my Tenn. D has been crap w/o haynesworth, i need to play a d off the waiver wire and my best options are:

either Mia or NYJ; they play each other,
either StL or Atl; they play each other

Pick 2:

You sure about that? Seen the weather forecast for pittsburgh on saturday night and sunday?
Which leads to my dilemma:

STEELERS DST v. Bengals

OR

TITANS DST(w/ Haynesworth) v. Texans ?

I don't like the Bengals Offense against any DST, but the weather could make it another PittvMiami. It's tough to guess what the titans will do now that they have big Al back tooo...

HELP! suggestions?

if housh plays, definitely start him.

in the past 3 seasons against the steelers:

Year	Games	Rec	Yds	TD
2007 1 7 81 1
2006 2 13 138 2
2005 2 12 163 2

Total 5 32 382 5

and i don't see the game being another pitt/miami. rumor has it that ben approached tomlin and arians before that final drive to get the FG and begged them to let him throw. they did and it worked out, i doubt they'd be that conservative all game again this time around. plus, the field isn't going to be as terrible as it was. it will still be bad, but that was beyond comparison.

I like Chatman this week.

Cotchery may be done for the season and Coles is looking doubtful as well

Chatman and the Dolphins should have plenty of chances on offense to capitalize.

Go with Chatman and expect at least 100-120 combined yards.

cool. i found this neat option for ESPN Insiders called The Answer Guys where you can send them a question and get a response back in 24 hours. hadn't ever heard of it but i thought i'd try it out. sent em my question about the keepers that i posted above and got this response:

Quote :
"Thanks for contacting The Answer Guys.

The best WR of your group is Boldin, but Megatron and Holmes are excellent choices as keepers also. I would be happy holding onto any of the three WR's in a keeper league, but I still prefer Boldin. I'm not as crazy as others are re: Megatron, and I actually prefer Holmes as a second choice behind Boldin.

Boldin is going to outperform the others in '08 - he's not only a deep threat for ARZ, he also has been one of the most targeted WR's in the game before this year (mostly because of his injuries has lowered his targets in '07) and I expect his targets to raise back up in '08 making him one of the better WR options in the league.

Good luck,

Dave Hunter"

not real familiar with dave hunter, but he made a good point about targets w/boldin. i didn't realize how high that stat was for him the past few years. i still think i'm leaning towards megatron though. i've been watching his highlights from the season and even though he's been a little impeded by that back injury it's just one spectacular catch after another. i think he will develop his amazing talent under martz and really improve, becoming an elite WR in the league.

i do agree about boldin probably being the best of the bunch in 2008, but looking ahead i think will have more upside in the future and will be more long-term.

anyone else wanna weigh in on this?

as a steelers fan i love holmes, but i think calvin and boldin are my frontrunners for now. still got plenty of time though, obviously, and more football to be played this season. one of these guys could explode for 8 TD's in the next 5 games and it'd be hard not to keep a guy if he does that.

plenty of upside with boldin or calvin

id go with Boldin though, they have all the pieces and he is on a team with a solid QB any given week. Kitna is spotty...

then again i am a Cardinals fan

that's true about warner vs kitna, but leinart is more of a question mark. plus, look what calvin did in college with reggie fuckin ball throwing to him. kitna's certainly better than him, and it doesn't appear that coverage is really a factor for this guy.

but yeah, i think it's a 2-horse race. i think boldin is more of the safe bet here, while calvin is the high-risk high-reward guy.

boldin has targets, but calvin is a freak.

boldin:
6-1
217 lbs
4.7+ 40 times at combine

johnson:
6-5
235 lbs
4.35 40 time at combine

he is like randy moss height and speed w/ TO's strength. i would seriously consider him a hybrid of the 2 most dominant WR's in the NFL. obviously there is still the ominous black hole for WR's that is the Detroit Lions, but i think if anyone can beat that curse it's calvin.

i dunno. it's gonna be a tough call. i just hope i don't end up kicking myself for years to come for takin the wrong one.

the problem you have here...you must look at the future and front office of the Detroit Lions vs the Future and front office of the Cardinals.

you have to almost be a futures calculator.

If Big Ben can get his shit together, this could be a high-scoring affair for Pitt. Despite not having Holmes they can put up points in the bunches against Cincy. So that could lead to a passing affair for Cincy to play keep-up/catch-up. But the way Pitt has been playing lately I don't know which team will show up.

I don't think you could go wrong with those 3 WR's you have. I personally try to avoid putting all my eggs in one basket though, not a fan of putting 2 WR's from the same team up because if the QB has a bad day, you get blasted twice.

Now back to my weekly QB controversy:
McNabb is doubtful, which is basically out.
Garcia is questionable, and if he goes he might not be 100%.

So my plan was to start John Beck and Luke McCown(Garcia's back-up). But with Garcia possibly playing, I don't want to play McCown, that situation is just iffy.

So scanning the waiver wire, I'm not left with much to choose from:
Vinny vs. SF
Dilfer @ Car
T. Jackson vs. Det
Huard vs. SD
Boller vs. NE

I also have Trent Edwards on my bench, but I'm hesitant to start him, I'm not sure if Washington will just be deflated, or if they'll come out strong.

So who should I pick up/play?

fargas and jones

and^^ out of those guys i'd go williams. he doesn't have many catches, but i think he's scored in 3 of the last 4 games.

plus bulger is out and frerotte isn't very trustworthy, and oakland's pass D aint that bad.

well looks like i was wrong about frerotte, i guess anybody looks good against the falcons. still none to bennett yet though so i guess i didn't miss there just yet. no catches yet for williams, but keep in mind that 50+ yard TD he had last week didn't come until late in the 4th quarter.

huard and vinny both have a TD and dilfer has an int, so maybe dilfer was a bad call. it's still early though, and the panthers could choke.

and i'm definitely happy i picked up the dolphins D to start over the jags this week. paid off already. hopefully they won't fall apart and give up 40 pts and 400 yards or anything. maybe i'll get super lucky and have another defensive TD or ted ginn runback or something. i need all the luck i can get w/the playoffs being a remote possibility at this point. have to basically outscore everyone in the league.

is calvin johnson even playing today? kitna has 18 completions already and none to him. and roy williams is apparently on the bench with an injury. and then he throws a pick. damn. guess megatron was a mistake this week.

damnit miami, this is the jets. don't give up another TD here before the half. then i'd think you're tyting to lose all your games.

well it looks like they probably will give up a ton of points and yardage, but if they keep getting sacks and maybe a couple more TO's, they'll still have a good total when it's over. and i don't think there's any way they can end up worse than the jags at this point.

? i hope that's sarcasm. he has 7 carries for 41 yards at the half...

he's helped open up the passing game for the saints, and wtf was he supposed to do when brees threw the 45 yard td?

and where the fuck is boldin? how do both anquan boldin and calvin johnson get held without a catch in the first half? boldin was supposed to go wild on the browns secondary.

Yeah I dropped Luke McCown to get Vinny, but at least he did better than Dilfer.

Too bad I played John Beck...wow, 4 weeks in a row I've had a QB with negative points, haha, and I managed to win 2 out of those 4, haha.

Thanks to my RB's and WR's this week. LT, S-Jax, A-Johnson, Braylon Edwards, and Hines Ward.

Yeah I've had too many choices with my RB's through the last few weeks. Thankfully they have been between good guys and they have all done pretty well. Unfortunately I have Tom Brady in the first round of the playoffs, his team has beaten me by 1 and 5 points, so I need to make sure I get the two guys who give the best performances. Thinking I'm gonna go with Grant (Duh) and Graham, just because of the consistency. Kolby might go off, but I would rather play the guy whos done well against a variety of defenses, against a bad defense.
