Their trade-in values are like pretty much everyone else - roughly 50-60% of market value.

picked up a 4506, stripped and cleaned it with Hoppe's solvent and lube. For whatever reason I also have a can of Break Free CLP, and after some reading CLP and 40W Mobile 1 come highly recommended as lubes

any thoughts or particular lubes y'uns swear by?

meh- I've never had a problem with it, but then again... I'm not an active hunter, nor do I give my guns a lot of wear and tear. It was just what was suggested to me by a couple of gun guys when I first started shooting, so it is what I use. Let me know what you end up finding, and I'll give that a go for my next time cleaning everything

well at this point i wouldn't know a good lube if it fell off the nightstand and ruined my carpet so any insight is appreciated

haha I will say, whatever you get, keep it in a separate zip lock baggy... I've seen plenty of lube spills, and that stuff stains and makes one hell of a mess

that's what i like about CLP. it's an aerosol can the size of a spray paint can. as long as the plastic top stays on, you're good.

Glock G36 for sale. Less than 50 rounds through it. I bought it a couple months ago and then found a Kimber 1911 Tactical Ultra at the last gun show and just had to have it. I really love my G36 but the high price of the Kimber has left me with money troubles. Anyone interested?

i've got some reloading components i'd like to trade

(18) speer 44 magnum shotshell capsules. even have the portion of the box with load data for you.

(42) speer .308" 170 gr flat nose bullets (speer #2041)

(46) .308" 150 gr flat nose bullets (i think they're sierra. i have the label off the box and it's green, but it doesn't have brand on it)

i don't have a 44 mag or a 30-30, so none of this is much use to me. i'd like to trade for some reloading equipment or components, whatever you've got that you don't need. i don't expect much for them.

Selling Primary Arms M3 clone and 3x magnifier
Originally purchased here for $168 +shipping
http://www.primaryarms.com/product.sc?productId=18&categoryId=398

The M3 is on the high mount for lower 1/3 cowitness and the 3x magnifier is on the QD mount.
The M3 is a screw off QD while the magnifier is a lever QD.

I have the original boxes as well I believe.
These are great copies, and have held up the range use with no issues.

I'm looking for $120 for the pair.
obo like everything on Tdub.

depends on what you want to do

my uncle has one. it's heavy. i have no use for one. do not want one in the slightest. 99% of my shooting is done from some sort of rest, be it a truck hood, a bench, shooting sticks, a tree, or a shooting rail in a treestand. an m1 would be cool if you just wanted some 30 caliber plinking action i guess.

nothing wrong with getting one just because you want one and think they look cool. what do you want to do with the gun?

honestly i'm just looking for a sturdy, reliable, relatively cheap (gun and ammo), relatively powerful and relatively available (ammo and parts) rifle for general purpose. right now just for target practice but maybe one day for some basic hunting. it doesn't necessarily have to be the best at any one thing, just pretty solid and well-rounded

all i have (either in my possession or available to me) is my 4506 for home protection, the rest are small-caliber rifles, couple small-caliber revolvers, and a small armament of shotguns in various states of disrepair.

basically i'm looking to trim the fat and stock up with/for a good pistol (covered) and a good mid-range rifle (looking) to satisfy 99% of the uses joe average could expect to come across

are you set on semi auto or are you open to other options?

a lever 30-30 would be an excellent choice for you, imo. and lever guns are fun to shoot.

while that does sound like an attractive option, aren't they relatively short-range?

and no, not set on semi-auto but i'm going to avoid single-shot bolt-action

it's fine to 100 yds. maybe 150. folks claim you can get better range using hornady's new leverevolution ammo due to it's improved BC. do you want to hunt deer or what?

do you have a budget in mind?

i really like the versatility of the .30-06. you can load 100 gr plinker rounds, 110 gr varmint rounds, etc etc all the way up to 220 gr bear hunting rounds. it's awesome. the .308 is fairly versatile as well.

no budget at the moment...I won't be buying it right away, I want to do more research. Just trying to get an overview of the type of rifle I want to keep my eye on. Right now I think something in the .308/7.62/30-06 realm fits the bill, so it's a matter of narrowing it down and hopefully trying a few out.

I do want something simple (easy for me to disassemble/clean/maintain/repair), maybe good ol' iron sights, built to last, few parts, wood/steel construction, etc.

^ & ^^ you should get the sks :
cheap
7.62x39 is plentiful and cheap
sks is very common
comes with cleaning kit and rod
comes with bayonet!
and it shoots tennis balls!

the tennis ball launcher is this:http://www.laxin.net/Launcher/
i have some blanks in stripper clips for it too, its fun for the dogs.
for $240 ill do all the blanks, 50 rnds 7.62 ball, and tennis ball launcher.

other pics of the sks and the bow are up in the gallery.

the bow says high country safari hunter, seems nice. $120 obo

the other bow isnt labeled but feels like a 60lb draw and has fiber sights. its a green and black camo paint job and shoots well. Id take $80 obo
