But even the Rangers win served to knock Buffalo a little bit farther down the ladder. Sure, I'd rather have had the Rangers lose, but kicking Buffalo down is also a good thing. This loss all but knocks them out of playoff contention. They'd have to make a hell of a run to get back in. So now we're down to 9 teams in contention instead of 10.
