Saw this posted on PP. I like how accessible Coach Gottfried is. Where is Hot Box Pizza on Hillsborough Street? I admittedly have not been back to Raleigh in a couple of years. Last time I was there Hillsborough was still 4 lanes and didn't have roundabouts, and Trinity didn't have a turn lane (found out from a friend that graduated in 2010).

Ah man Sylvia's Pizza closed. That was my place for cheap pizza at lunch time. I hated I Love NY Pizza when I was at State from Fall 2002 to Fall 2006. There was also that one pizza joint on Pogue St near Sylvia's Gelato. I think they closed or were renovating the place during my final 12 months in Raleigh.

So this building eh?

Yeah, I really liked Sylvia's Pizza. It's too bad it closed. I tried Hot Box when I was in town last week. It's pretty good, although the cashier wasn't very friendly.

beer towers are stupid. the beer gets warm and flat really quickly. It's gimmicky, has that "lookatme" factor, and at best makes up for shitty waitstaff who can't fill people's drink orders fast enough.

When I was in Europe, they sold beer "carafes" at a lot of places I went. They were like those towers, except wider and had a cylinder of ice in the middle to keep the beer cold. I thought they were awesome...service in Europe was horrible and they usually had good choices of beer. Best way to make sure you always had a good drink at the table.
