Saudi newspaper Arab News http://www.arabnews.com is the Middle East's most widely read English daily. While they have some of their reporters covering international events, they get most of their international articles from AFP, AP, and Reuters, which is great because you get exposure to expertly researched and written news from around the world, and this shockingly balanced coverage for a paper in of the world's most authoritarian countries. I started reading it around the age of 10.

I started commenting there regularly 4 years ago (they use Disqus), mostly debunking hoaxes and rumors accepted as fact by many Arabs/Muslims, shooting down extremists, and just bringing facts and normalcy to all the various stupid and frequent rivalries that play out in the comments (Muslim vs. non-Muslim, Arab vs. non-Arab, Saudi citizen vs. Saudi resident non-citizen, Pakistan vs. India, etc.). Most of my comments are basically pro-freedom of religion, anti-totalitarian, pro-women's rights, anti-hegemony, anti-dogma, anti-terrorism, anti-oppression, pro-human rights, etc.

So, they have done extensive coverage of Trump's visit, with flattering articles on the business deals, Melania's and Ivanka's outfits, class, and grace, and even the lunch menu.

But something new has transpired in the comments sections of said articles in the last couple of days: the Dem vs. Repub and JCE-type vs. "SJW" rivalry between Americans has seriously exploded into the comments, with most comments by people who have never posted there, and them getting a lot of upvotes, also mostly from usernames/names I have never seen there before, most with American or American-sounding names. The fights center on important issues such as terrorism, war, Israel, but unsurprisingly, a yuuuge chunk have to do with:

- Melania's class in relation to Michelle's, with a lot of JCEs shitting on Michelle, and one maybe even indirectly calling her an "ape"
- Trump's lack of class and taste in fine food
- Headscarf issue and her choice of outfit
- Ivanka setting Arab Twittersphere on fire
- Obama-hatred

It has been deja vu for me, reading the same arguments -- and Americans hating each other -- I see here and on US news articles, but interestingly, the fights are taking place in the comments sections of a Saudi newspaper!

The Repubs/JCEs are "winning" most of the arguments by sheer numbers of their type posting in the comments, and them backing each other up against all the "SJWs" and Dems. It is quite intriguing how all these Trump supporters appeared out of nowhere on a Saudi paper's site and are backing each other up in supporting Trump, attacking Michelle and Obama, and attacking Trump detractors. I guess I could say the same for the other side, but there are just way more Trumpists trumpeting around!!!

I just read all the comments on the articles below, and man, a completely new type of shitshow the likes of which has been absent from the comments sections at AN so far!

I (infinity) posted a few comments as well, some shooting down lies and falsehoods posted as truth by Trumpists, but also some light-hearted comments. One of my comments was rejected because it was questioning (Mods don't give reasons for rejecting comments) the Saudi monarchy's decisions on giving their highest civilian honor to Trump, May, and Putin. One other was rejected; it was harshly but truthfully anti-Trump, but that surprised me as many other equally harsh or harsher anti-Trump comments were accepted. Some of my comments are still in the review process.

Thought many of you would like to read the comments sections of those articles, and maybe even post some of your comments or replies to existing comments! Yes, comments have to be approved (it is SA after all), but it takes less than 24 hours. Comments sections are kept open for 3-5 days for most articles, so if you want to comment, better hurry up!

Trump, hate him all you want, is now the most visible person on the planet.

Which means that this is not your regular episode of husband and wife going through a rough patch, because what they do as a couple has an immediate reflection on the POTUS and the leadership of the USA, and she knows it. This is far worse, and nothing more than some sort of vindictive power play on her part to show him that she has some control on him, but at what cost?

And, what in the fuck has she ever done with her life to try to embarrass him? Like I said, hate him all you want, but all she did was have his baby, and he has supported her and provided for her ever since then. I don't think that she has any right to be doing that, and would be thrilled if Trump just divorced her to show her who really has the power.
