In this scenario it's warranted. What I always hated was how channel 11 would ALWAYS preempt final jeopardy every night in the summertime to report a thunderstorm. It was like clockwork. Never before Jeopardy, during the regular course of the show, or after Jeopardy was over. Always right during the final jeopardy segment. You never got to see the answer or the question. They'd come back from showing you a thunderstorm on the Virginia border just in time to see the final few credits.

Thunderstorms happen every night in the summer, and it wasn't ever anything more than a thunderstorm. Always made me back then.

Yeah, I believe it came within a few miles of my location as well. We were in a blinding rain, debris and hail was coming down. Usually this occurs close to a tornado from my understanding. Based on reports and photos I can see, I believe the tornado/wall cloud passed to my east by a few miles. Not sure if it was on the ground at that time or not. It was shrouded in a blanket of rain through which I could not see. We were on the edge of this rain and, for a time, I could not see past the neighbor's house. Meaning, I had literally only had about 150-200ft visibility. The wind was not in one direction, it was wild and varied greatly in direction as though a microburst or something were moving towards and then away from our location.

The storm that went through Greensboro did not go through Raleigh. That went through Person County. This storm formed in Moore County and travelled northeast into Wake County. This is the imagery I had on my system today.

I'm in clinton - took cover on the bottom floor (which involves going outside the apartment). The wind was an awesome force. Almost knocked me down.

As soon as it was over almost every emergency services vehicle in the area was headed north - I guess they took it hard.

Early reports via cell phones are saying that Bonnetsville got pounded hard.
