I love me some Tom O'Brien, and I dont feel that this or the Carolina loss was entirely his fault, but something has to change. There is no explanation for the shitty ways we find to lose these shitty games.

The carolina game ended with us punting to someone that even I would know not to punt to, and this game just boggles the fucking mind. Almost as bad (I'd dare say worse even, because we were pretty much shutout by a 2-6 team at home) as the Boston College game last year. How the fuck we can look so great in some games and like pure dog shit in another is ridiculous.

If debbie does pull the trigger, I have faith in her to get someone good. I dont think Saban or anything is coming, but there has to be an up and coming coach that can recruit worth a damn and make decent play calls.

Also, we have got to stop running the ball so damn much. i know theres a time and place for it, and that you cant just throw it on every down, but clearly we aren't that amazing at running the ball. Mike can throw a ball almost the length of the field, yet they rarely let him. That bugs the shit out of me.

This is not on the coaches. Just give TOB the chance to recruit and develop:

Receivers and tight ends that can catch
Offensive linemen that can block
Defensive ends so we don't have to play 4 defensive tackles
Linebackers that can make plays
Safeties that are not out of position on the pass

Also given experience I'm sure our coaches could learn clock management, and even occasionally try to score when we get the ball with less than a minute door two on the clock.

i'd argue it had a lot to do with the coaches. nobody seemed to even care about playing today except wolff and maybe a couple others. we weren't even remotely prepared or motivated today and virginia destroyed us for it. it really might have been the worst game i have been to... no balls from the coaches, no heart from the players, boneheaded decisions left and right and the officiating just made it even more miserable than it already was.

i'm on board with starting to look elsewhere for a coach. it sucks, but i've had enough. after years of clown shoes i was glad to at least see some discipline, and we didn't even see that today. i was relatively okay with the loss to the douchebags last week. getting stomped by virginia at home is a whole other story.
