This game was not predetermined, we had plenty of chances to win but poor playcalling near the goal line and shitty ref calls put us out of it.

And if you don't get hyped before a playoff game you might as well just stop being a fan of any team. Just wear a plain shirt on game day and latch onto whichever team ends up winning.

0-4 in games giving up 20+ points says it all about this team. Get this offense scoring a bit more and we are in good shape next year. Problem is gonna be figuring out how to afford to keep everyone around. Need to take a look at how New England manages to always have a rag tag team and always be great.

It was hard to get hyped for this game. Our team is just too flawed. Kind of like last year's bball team it's hard to win when one side of the ball is shit.

I got hyped during the first quarter though

I want to get hyped about our future but we're still fucked from Hurney for a couple years and Shula is our OC

We're paying DWill and Stewart like $90 million and Mike Tolbert was our #1 RB today

Hurney orchestrated some bad contracts, but he also drafted Cam, Luke, CJ, Hardy, etc. And he's gone. It's like blaming TOB for us going 0-8 in conference this year. Let it go.

I wonder what kind of $ they'll give Hardy, I guess franchising would be about 12/yr?

Franchising him would be the average of the top-5 defensive ends in the league, so however much that is...I'd rather lock him up long-term if possible, but I want him on the team next year regardless

^^^ Better franchise historically perhaps.

Same number of superbowls since the panthers came into the league.

how about I dont do this. lol. I'm an objective fan even for the team I root for. I know exactly what I'm looking at. I give credit where credit is due even for our opponents. it was our first playoff game with this cast.

I feel good about this team going down the line that I ever did with Jake. after that 2008 debacle I thought we should have got rid of the franchise (back then I wasn't as objective)

We got like 21 free agents. Our secondary will be totally different alot of 1 yr deals. Why extend Cams contract? Do the option. Maybe he will play like it is his contract year. Schedule will be brutal. First to worse in division?

Once JR dies, CA group will buy the panthers, keep them in Charlotte to complete obligations(tethered for 6ish years I think), then move them.

Is it too much to ask to at least once have an offense that isn't a liability? I know a lot of factors played into the loss today, but it's been a long time since Panther fans have been excited about the offense.

As an objective fan, what did you expect our record to be at the start of the year?

It's not like we are looking at top shelf talent here with this secondary. I don't think it's gonna be a significant step down with pretty much anyone.

I have always given Belicheat the ultimate respect, but let's see how he does when Brady retires, if he doesn't retire at the same time...he wasn't shit in Cleveland, and he got a few 3-point SB wins from knowing every play the other team was gonna run

At the beginning of the season.? I said 9- 10 wins this year cause with each season we were getting one better and we look great at the end of both seasons. late game execution concerned me then we were 1-3 and I was thinking it was the same pattern. Actually the seahawks game the surprised the hell out of me but it was week 1. that doesn't mean shit come week 17

we won against good teams ( patriots, saints, san fran.) and we tore it up against mediocre teams. good teams do that

I thought the saints would win the division and we would battle out for #2 with the falcons. thank god the falcon had all those injuries and they folded up like a lawn chair. AM I right?

at least battling for a wildcard spot.

I'm not at all disappointed in this year. we weren't beating the seahawks.

that have a good team every year where they are expected to win but they dont do shit in the end.

patriot team isn't a ragtag team. they consistently develop their players AND they play in a god awful division. NFC South isn't a pushover division. probably never will be

Belicheck shat out an 11 win season with Matt Cassell. Dude is good.

I think roddy was suggesting waiting on Cam's extension because we have other problems to deal with this offseason. Like Greg Hardy.

I think Munnerlyn is also a FA. I always thought he was just a guy but he really stepped it up this year. Unfortunately I don't think we have room for him. Mitchell will be another interesting one. Great attitude/heart but he can get exposed in coverage. Theoretically he's replaceable but if in game 6 next season Robert Lester is back out there fuck that.

#1 move needs to be the Hardy extension. Franchising him is a back up plan but I think he deserves an extension. How hard is it to get out of CJ's contract? Hopefully we can cut him in a couple years without a huge cap hit once his play starts to decline and Cam's/Luke's/Star's/etc contracts start to kick in.

If there's room to extend Cam after that then great. I'm sure waiting another year would just tack on a couple extra mil a year to his extension so it'd be nice to avoid that.

What about LaFell? Isn't he an FA next year? I'd bring him back if he's cheap. Sure he's not great but we need bodies at that position with Smith aging.

Belichick is good, but Matt Flynn and Kevin Kolb looked awesome too when they knew a team's system. Let's see what he does once his HOF QB retires. He hasn't won a SB in 10 years, but he's lost a couple.

I dont think they made the playoff with Matt Cassell that year. I could be wrong about that.

since we are bullshitting on the patriots "excellent " organization that year that they lost in the superbowl to the giants I thought that patriots team was way better than those teams thatwon the first 3. Excellent high powered offense (Randy Moss).

Nothing is given in the NFL. just b/c you see the flaws and try to fix them doesn't mean you won't lose. it is what it is.

they missed the playoffs with Cassell, but they did go 11-5 that year. It was more of a tiebreaker thing.

Draft a fucking receiver that can go up and make a play. Smith can be fine in the slot and on 3rd down for the next couple years, but we need someone that can make difficult catches. Lafell is terrible, bad hands and has no idea how to use his size. Ginn is a fine 3rd receiver but he only runs two routes. We need that true #1 guy, Cam shouldn't be able to sit in the pocket for 5 seconds with no one getting open.

He might be, he has suspect hands which is the last thing you need in a receiver. I'd be cautious about taking him.

Benjamin would be ideal because he's 10 feet tall, which is just the right height for a receiver in our offense considering how often Cam sails his passes.

Really need to resign Mitchell, Ginn, and Mikell. I didn't think Captain was a FA?

I don't want to lose Hardy, but I don't think we can afford to have two DE's making $texas. Maybe we franchise him ... maybe we don't.

We have to bring in another playmaker at WR, either through the draft of free agency. It'd be nice to have a huge WR who can make plays, but I just want a guy who can consistently get open. Eric Decker or Emanuel Sanders might be good options in FA.

Evans from Texas A&M would be a no-brainer if he's there when we pick. So would the guy from USC.

Rodgers, brees, manning, rivers, Wilson, Ryan are 6 that are in arguable.

Romo Iis in arguable based on stats alone but I know people will go crazy if I.dont list him separately.

Foles and McCown were both obviously better this year but I'm not sure those weren't fluke seasons. They were both clearly better but I'd probably rather have luck going forward.

Kaepernick makes ten and Roeth is 11.

I think the way they talk about Andrew Luck makes him overrated. the kid can play. he suffers from youth like all the rest of them. but picking up after Peyton Manning and so far making 2 playoffs with comebacks under your belts isn't nothing to sneeze at in NFL. He had Reggie Wayne didn't hurt either. It didnt hurt Peyton to have Marvin Harrison

yeah i mean Luck was pretty bad last year, ranked pretty near the bottom of starting QB's in most categories like completion %, ypa, int, etc...

This year he definitely made a leap to be in the top half of all QB's for sure. And I think it's certainly possible he's right there with the other elite guys in a year or two. But he's not there yet.
