^He's still right though. Cam use another goalie. I'm not saying to replace him, but shit. He can use some rest.

Fair enough, but Leighton can provide that. He's likely to be awarded the AHL MVP next week.

Also, Cam honestly looks better with more work. This stretch of 19 straight starts or whatever it is has been his best period of play since October.

i think the point is that basically we have come to agree with johnny tortorella.

i think we are all looking forward to leighton, and pray he doesn't get some grahamesque myrtle beach-looking airbushed paint job for his helmet.

every time grahame was shown on tv i ended up wanting to go to an arcade and play cruisin' usa.

for nc state to do what the hurricanes did state would actually have to be in position to win something

I think I remember hearing that EVERY goal that was scored was on his blocker side

FWIW, it's not really Cam's problem...it's a problem with the butterfly system. There is one and only one completely vunerable spot: a foot off the ice on the blocker side.

The glove can shut down the hole between the arm and body, but it can also telescope out to cover the area above the flared pad if necessary. However, since the stick blade has to back up the pads' five hole coverage, the blocker isn't afforded the same versatility and is anchored to the body.

Florida is just going to lay down tonight. They've done what they wanted to do, and that's kill our playoff hopes. They HATE us. It will be a lopsided Washington win.

^ Yep, Washington would probably win easily anyway but the Panthers are going to enjoy turning the screws in us by completely laying down.

Yeah, I need to make it clear that by no means do I think Florida has a prayer tonight. Even if they don't lay down, Ovechkin won't let them win.

I thought that Staal was going to will us to win, but it would have helped if Cole played like an adult last night. The only guys I saw really pushing to win last night were Staal, Ruutu, Corvo, Aucoin, and Walker. SamSOnov played alright, but he was thinking too much.

Also, if Ovechkin doesn't get a hat trick, I'll be surprised.

I was listening to the game on the radio yesterday and have a question. What the hell is the deal with the way the radio guy pronounces Samsonov?

For the longest time I thought Frolov had scored for the Canes which made no sense at all.

Also, it's interesting that the lack of backup means my status name went back to #14.

and the best part of the whole ordeal is that by having corporate tix, i could be up close
to all the sad, depressed "fans."

washington could lose, but it was still worth it to have better tickets than everyone else
and to enjoy the loss.

i think i enjoy watching the former whalers lose and you all squirm more than i like seeing
my own team win.

Please to be speaking for yourself.

But if they are matched up against the Rags in the playoffs it will be over in 4. They have played them 7 times this season and have lost all 7. They also play them tomorrow. Stein is going to put me in the poor house calling in this bet for the season.

Wow. When have I ever danced on the grave of the Canes when cheering on the Devils? I will admit that I can't stand the faggy Banana Slugs fans just as much as anyone here. Do I favor the Devils more than the Canes? Yes, but that doesn't mean that (unlike Sabres fans) I have to be an asshat about it. But thanks for the damning generalization.

^^ thats the worst part for me

its not like we played bad hockey and dont deserve to be in the playoffs

they are just on one of the most ridiculous runs ever and we STILL almost held them off

its a tough pill to swallow

I'm watching my Game 7 DVD from our Championship run right now. That was so special. And the one thing I noticed there that we didn't have yesterday, was Rod Brind'amour. His leadership is irreplaceable. I mean, he made the whole team come out for the trophy presentation after they beat Buffalo to win the Eastern Conference. It was always about the TEAM first to him. His leadership could have been a great asset during our late stretch this year.
