If we ever have a meet or you make it to C&C I'm going to have to take you for a ride. Honestly I can't think of another car 2009 and newer that is a better car to build than a G8. Relatively cheap, roomy, and LS powered. This morning I blew the tires off it at 65 in 3rd gear at 60% throttle. Log shows wheel speed going from 65 to 99 in half a second.
5/7/2015 9:22:19 AM
Why don’t you get a car that can get out of it’s own way?
5/7/2015 12:11:35 PM
huh?
5/7/2015 12:53:24 PM
^^^daaaaaaaaaaaamn
5/7/2015 3:14:11 PM
Is it tuned yet?pretty crazy you are spinning at 65 mph ..your tires bald?I'm guessing you hit a bump during your logI wanna see dyno numbersPop your logs into virtual dyno[Edited on May 7, 2015 at 4:09 PM. Reason : Vd]
5/7/2015 4:08:02 PM
I just downloaded that program, I'll try and get a good 3rd gear pull logged and pop it in and see. You should know I don't care about dyno's, my dyno is the 1/4 mile slip. When I took the snout down to Mayhem to have the pulley swapped, I told the owner my fullset "That should easily be a 600whp setup".
5/7/2015 5:44:42 PM
Tuned it up. Had an exhaust leak ($2.40 fix) and the Bank 1 upstream 02 sensor was out of whack, so I ended up replacing it ($104 from dealership, couldn't find anything cheaper local) The vette is much smoother now, pulls a little harder... Oh man... Just wish I had a 2nd set of rims/tires for the drift event this weekend...[Edited on May 7, 2015 at 10:59 PM. Reason : .]

Desperately needing tiresGoing to be a fucking idiot and go with 4 Dunlop zII star specsYou know, because daily driving needs a sticky as shit tire that's going to need replacing in 10k miles

Oh, alsoThe key to getting an unreasonably low car onto a trailerIs to get an unreasonably low trailer Easiest trailer loading experience of my life. Hooray for Craigslist and circle track guys.

For the life of me I can't figure out virtual dyno, and in the interest of not killing myself or getting one hell of a ticket I'm not even going to try anymore. It keeps saying I have 6500hp....JUNK
5/8/2015 3:20:25 PM
Sounds like it's off by an order of magnitude.Let's just estimate it at 65000 and call it a day.
5/8/2015 3:44:30 PM
^^ send me the spread sheet.. i tuned mine to get the numbers to match a real dyno on my subaru usually it's weight that is off.
5/8/2015 3:59:21 PM
send me the spreadsheet toomake sure you input the gear ratios and make sure you have it set to whatever gear you did your run in. Also make sure the weight of your car and the size of your tires is accurate.last thing is to make sure your actually getting full 100% tps...if not we can modify the chart so that virtual dyno can read the data
5/8/2015 5:58:29 PM
^^^^^ holy shit, i killed 2-3 sets of Star Specs on my S2000 in 10k or less each, with no track days.

Maybe the AP1 suspension set up wears out tires more quickly? Because neither of you own an AP2.
5/11/2015 8:31:23 AM
Prepared the Integra for it's longest road trip in 5 years (NJ) yesterday, and noticed a suspicious pool of some liquid under neath the car. Smelled like coolant, yet the system is topped off
5/11/2015 3:50:29 PM
When's your trip? If everything works out, I've got to take the s2000 to st Louis this weekend. Been wanting to take it on a road trip for a while...but not right now...or to st Louis. lol
5/11/2015 11:19:20 PM
Leaving tomorrow afternoon. Stopping in Baltimore on the way up. But doing the whole return trip in one session Sunday afternoon.

5/13/2015 9:04:35 AM
I was going to ask how much that thing weighs, but a Challenger weighs 4500+ so no fucks given I guess.

wow, my tires were in such shitty condition - car feels like a completely different car now. It's fun to drive again!
5/13/2015 3:17:45 PM
^ same feeling a few weeks ago, right before the alt+wp belt broke.
5/13/2015 3:56:20 PM
^ ouch. I fully expect the same to happen, though.
5/13/2015 4:10:00 PM
and of the drifters modify their spindles or anything yet?
5/13/2015 4:20:54 PM
Turbo is in pieces, center section and turbine/shaft are in the dip tank to try and get all the coked oil off. Cheap ass Amazon rebuild kit ready to install. That's of course my cheapass spare turbo. Teeny tiny Garrett GT1752. Hardly fitting for a 2.0, but better than nothing. Currently, car with original turbo is going thru more than a gallon of oil in a week. I've GOT to find time to get this done. This kinda thing is almost monthly, but what can you expect with a 200k+ SAAB?

^what type of outer tie rods are you using? anything else needed for those knuckles to work?[Edited on May 13, 2015 at 9:38 PM. Reason : extended lower arms needed or ?]
5/13/2015 9:37:43 PM
Lengthened FLCAs are beneficial, but not necessary to use those knuckles. As for tie rods... S14, Q45, Maxima, and a handful of other Nissan/Infiniti cars of that era shared the same thread and shank sizes, they just had varying lengths. You can mix-n-match to get the extra length needed. For future reference, there's a short list of inner tie rod lengths at the bottom of Post #2 here. If you poke around Zilvia/Google long enough, you can probably find lengths of various outers as well.http://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=296725

lol, mechanic says I need a new thermostat housing and it'll cost $250.Yea, I don't believe for a second the actual housing is damaged...and even if it were, i can get one straight from Honda for $20.
5/14/2015 4:22:31 PM
new KYB AGX rear shocks and I was using invisible glove cream for the workI fully endorse the stuff! Mine in particular was "Ghost Glove" but there are cheaper alternatives on Amazon with awesome reviews. I didn't know the stuff existed until last weekend when my parents brought some over.

Installed a car seat. Get to use it for the first time tomorrow!
