I dunno seems like all the forecasts I'm seeing are backing off of the numbers from earlier today. Most have gone from 3-5" to 1-3"

The latest SREF Plume is trending up though. They added about a 1/2 inch on the average.

The mean of all the models is showing 3-6 inches for the Charlotte to raleigh corridor. Could get more, could get less...obviously.

I got the old why the fuck are you calling me from my boss. 10 minutes later he calls me back and tells me he watched the weather and realized I was right and not to come in. What to do today...

I'm not going into the office...at least not for a few hours. The summer tires on my car hate snow with a passion, though I just drove around my neighborhood a little bit to get a "feel" for their adhesion limits. Wasn't that bad actually.

Are any major companies in RTP even delayed this morning? This is fucking stupid, Google traffic is red all over the place.

one of our employees gave up and pulled into a restaurant for coffee after spending 1hr+ from Cary (near crossroads area) to Airport Blvd via I-40. He had already left before we sent out the winter weather email, I told him he could expense whatever breakfast/coffee he wanted if he felt like camping out there for awhile. Another guy was coming in down 70 and turned around and went home because of the number of accidents he saw.

fuck all that mess, stay home.

I'm actually skeptical that it could be worse than the traffic right now. It should be fewer people. Then again the drivers around here are constantly exceeding expectations for bad judgement...

MBP1 is a little bitch.

I slipped several times on 440 this morning... between capital and six forks... where traffic always fucks itself. Slow moving traffic is allowing the snow to stick to the road and get compacted; elsewhere it was just blowing off.

So looks like this system is over-performing and the system for Wed night/Thursday is starting to trend away from the big amount of snow people were predicting yesterday.

Looks to me like it'll be tapering off in the next 1-2 hours, with a possible small cell or flurries this afternoon.

The roads are fine except for idiotic accidents...so yeah, the major ones are a disaster. Don't even go near them--back route to the store if you need something.
