I dont like the fact that you only see 4 cylon models on caprica when there are 12. I can see baltar being a cylon, but I mean how many times are they going to play the "OMFG this person is a cylon" twist.

And someone needs to watch when baltar escapes of caprica in that ship and look at his face to see if he was cut. Because if he was cut then he survived the blast. And another thing, if he was reborn I dont think he had enough time to be reborn then get to the ship, and he doesnt remember waking up in that liquid jelly chamber thing??

As a side note, I don't think baltar is a cylon. That would be lame, since it goes along with expectations (he has, after all, been scewing the humans over since the start). It's dramatically superior to have the duality of a human who hates humans and a cylon who hates cylons.

Let's all go ahead and agree that the writers strive to create the most dramatic situations, not the most expected or "neat" situations.

^yes i have, and maybe he has a different meaning. this show has definitely been less than neat. I mean "neat" in terms of things fall in line with our expectations of what a sci fi show should be (iow, things happen like they would on star trek -- for example, pegasus crew falls in line.)

and the humans in BSG are like us, just as Ron Moore has said over and over again, they dont have super adavanced technology, there are no transporters, just about the only thing they have that we dont is the light-speed drive.

I doubt the president's a cylon. Sure the whole cancer thing could have been a convenient way to excuse not killing the child, but then again SHE's the one who wanted the kid aborted in the first place. Were that just a secret cylon plot that would be a little too convolutled. Also, cylon's don't get cancer. They have the super immune systems and all.

I still think the low level of technology is an amusing way to save money on the show. Guess he learned from the original series that high budgets kill scifi shows. It still bugs me a little though they they have artificial gravity and FTL drives, but everything else is tech we had about 10-20 years ago. You'd think the advances in engineering and fundamental understanding of physics required for such things as artificial gravity and FTL drives would make for some other cool advances. Ah well, at least he didn't give everyone goofy blaster guns that made high pitched noises in space.

No... they don't. They're something like 50 caliber machine guns on the fighters (what I was talking about in the first place anyways). Remember the episode where the ammo was fucked with? Those were bullets, not weird-ass energy cartridges or something. And the guns they carry on the ship, at least alot of them, are also projectile weapons. Remember the episode with the explosive ammo and the cylon boarding party? They showed the actual bullets they used...

But this was not a complaint, at least the no goofy gun thing. Projectile weapons are VERY effective killing machines and soft lead bullets make sense on a spaceship anyways. It's not unreasonable that a space faring culture would still use them. That's the one technological inconsistency that's not actually inconsistent.

^ So the doctor's a cylon too eh? I'd beleive THAT more than the president. But still, like another poster said, the "OMFG they're a cylon!" trick will get old fast if they're going to use it a couple more times, let alone 7 or 8.

After this episode, I think it's very likely Baltar is a cylon, mostly because it doesn't make sense that 6 would have him in her head, and Baltar would have 6 in his head, that seems part of the Cylon plan to learn how humans think, like in the first Caprica episode when the cylons were tracking Sharon's escape, and how she fell in love, and they were saying how love may have been the missing key to cylon reproduction.

But, in the commentary, there's been a few times when the guy says "it doesn't matter how it happened, it just did" in regards to some apparent inconsistency (like when the 6 on Galactica escaped, people wondered how, and he said it didn't matter). It seems clear to me that the director isn't focused on micro-managing the consistencies, and so far, it hasn't really hurt the story.

I can see it going both ways. You can argue for both.

But what matters to me is what I think should happen.

It would be ok if baltar turned out ot be a cylon, but I would rather that not happen. I would rather him stay in the fleet as a semi antagonist who is unpredictable than a cylon that you know if gonna pull some shit.

And is anyone else noticing that there are 12 models, but in every seen on caprica you only see the 4 that we know are cylons. I wander if there are any models hidden in the frames that are hard to see. Kinda like a easter egg or something.
