Yeah Maxum is part of the family, too...basically they're Bayliners that are better quality...but Bayliners sell really well...supposedly they're the top-selling boat company...because a lot of people are just looking for a boat they can have fun with at a fairly cheap price.

arcgreek:

Yeah it was on CP. Ask David Cox about it. He'll tell you. Ask him about the time I almost got catapulted off the deck when Billy's replacements forgot to break the lazy jib sheet. That earned me a trip from Oriental to Bath in the cabin on top of the #3 with an icepack on the sprained knee.

That boat really hates me.

Our spin pole likes to open up for no good reason. you can be gybing and get the sheet in, then go to attach at the pole and bam--time to start over. Even well into a gybe it may decide it no longer likes sheets. I hate that fucking pole.

Yes we do, but we have the pre-redesign model. This is the reason it was redesigned.

i've been one a few mid 90's bayliners that the glass had began to separate all over the place ...and its thinner than most to start with so i was real about it.
for a family boat.. you can't beat a sea-ray and for a fast boat you can't beat a fountain (unless you go custom or cat then you can't beat nordic(afforable),pier 57, or platinum ($texas))... there are about a dozen company's who do great jobs with cc fishing boats though.

Is that why my sailing buddies hook up under sail? lolllllll

I agree though, def prefer the diesels. Hell, my youngest lab is named Diesel.

you can.

its "flown" by a joystick. They almost sailed it across the ocean but they hit a shipping container and broke off a foil.

the only "not cool" thing about it is that its 100% built, owned and sailed by frenchmen.

(imagine the smell)

Nice,

I'm going to be in Myrtle Beach for a catamaran race this weekend, then the last weekend in August I'll be in hatteras for another. We've gotta start ramping up our 2006 Tybee 500 campaign soon. Trey has been selling sunfish like crazy.

We're taking applications for regatta groupies now. One week vacation, you see a new beach everyday.

i'm thinking baout getting a new boat...

i was thinking laser or sunfish, but i can get a new fireball hull for less than a new laser with full rigging... and i already have all the rigging for a fireball

so, in short, we'll see

I'd get bored with both a laser and a sunfish

I learned to sail on a laser, I remember how uncomfy it was when I was 8 years old.

That 34 yellowfin is without a doubt one of the best looking CCs around. He recently sold that particular one to go back to a 31. That dark blue hull is awesome but you'd have to wax it at least once every two months or so.

There should be some there on NC Waterman. If not, try Stanmans site. Look in the library there. Hopefully the link will work for you.

Story about what happened to us in the ocean.

Just incase you're wondering, wetasschronicles.com is a blog site for a friend of mine, Tim Zimmerman. He writes a lot of the watersports articles for SI and has written a book or two. His site is pretty fucking hilarious and it deals with all kinds of "extreme wet sports" not just sailing.

Maugan: I have already talked to Trey about it . It's going to depend on a lot though. If i graduate i'm going to cowles week. there is talk of my boat going south in the spring-- key west week, miami, etc. I may be on the broke side

Dgm: what is the one design scene like in the south for fireballs? I know there is a big following for Lasers...

Glad to hear Dragon's Breathe went well, I was at Dragon's Breathe
