^sure, let me first finish some stuff on it.

since this is an M3 thread, here is the original 1995 article from Car and Driver magazine on 1995 M3 when it came out. pretty good informational read. interesting to see where the raw numbers compare to today's cars. it is amazing that they achieved this back 1992 when it came out. thats almost 15 years ago.

dinan chip and ebay intake. has new valve retainers, valve springs, exhaust valves and cyl head gasket, which may be the reason why numbers look good. i dont know if there are any internal mods that im not aware of

I just bought mine a couple of weeks ago. Picture isnt too great b/c of all the trees around the driveway/overcast day, but it's all that I have right now. It's a 95 M3 with 21,000 miles on it.

It's not, but ok.

I just read your post on bf:

Yeah, that must be it

Why? Do you have a CEL? The chances of it not activating are low to none.

my low end isnt so good and its sort of boggy. its identical w/ my vanos solenoid plugged in or not..

I've driven Callahan's and his def feels more torquey below 3.5kish and we plugged/unplugged his solenoid and felt a noticable difference.

So somethings wrong somewhere. Either electrical or mechanical.

no CELs and i just had my codes scanned... nothing major wrong.. *shrug*

oh and we swapped solenoids and i saw no improvement.

hahaha what do you think i was serious when i said that? cmon man

as for other stuff, i dont know if thats the reason or not. valve springs like any other moving part can be fatigued over time. there is a possibility that new parts are the reason.

^could be, but i ran after some 15 cars and all had reasonable/expected whp and wtq, so i doubt that is the problem. i've seen quite a few dynos from bone stock M3s all the way up to 215 whp, so with the chip and intake, it is not unreasonable, but it is somewhat higher than expected. could be one of the factory freaks.

OK, I'm gonna talk some smack, so listen up:

"new valve retainers, valve springs, cylinder head gasket may have played the part. i also drive my car hard, so ECU may have adapted the map to it"

I could see 2-5hp between a "worn" head and a freshly rebuilt one, but a fresh rebuild's not going to make extra power. People tend to rebuild heads to remedy oil consumption or failure, not to make additional power.

"ive seen the car in action, its pretty fast."
I've seen your mom in action, she's pretty fast. :p

AttackLax, that's an ugly M3. I'd say maybe it looks better in person, but considering that you'd buy an M3 w/21k miles, I don't expect to see it on the road anytime soon.

"I just have a badass car

Great post, ironic timing.

the only reason that m3 has 21k miles on it is because the last owner was too embarrassed to take it out

If your car is a 95 then I would say that torque number is a little high. My car dynoed with intake at 214 and 218 so its pretty close.

talk about solidarity among BMW drivers. seems like everyone is out to put someone down as soon as the chance arises. i posted a dyno. i think the numbers are higher that what they should be. im not sure why. im making an assumption.

seems like a lot of you here haven't drained your balls in a very long time.

If there's enough interest, I can put together a DIY fix for this issue. Shit, if you're lucky, I'll take pics too.

Assuming access to proper tools, shouldn't be more than a 15 min/1 beer job.

I wasn't trying to put you down at all, hell alot of people talked shit when my 142k car but down its numbers, I was simply stating that I was suprised to see a 3.0 put down more tq than hp.

I have trouble believing the Tq numbers. I bet other cars from that dyno are reading high as well.
