I think I'll pull for that too, I don't like any of these teams. But especially the three english ones. Oh well, the games should at least be entertaining.

^^^ I agree Man U looks too strong. I must admit I would LOVE to see liverpool win it all and will be pulling for a milan/liverpool game but I am not so sure milan will get past Man U. They just look to good. Although Milan's back line will put up a much better defense against them than Roma did.

that 2ng leg game against roma is the thing that is making them look "too strong"...don't forget the 2 losses they had just last week

I think the leg at the San Siro will be really tough, but United will bury Milan at Old Trafford.

i definitely think milan will have something for united, i think it'll be something along the lines of 1-0 milan and a 1-1 draw... if the scoring stays low, milan is in really good shape - roma just rolled over and died once they went down in the quarters

i don't know why everyone is sleeping on Chelsea, either

yeah and hopefully milan remember that the match lasts for 90 minutes this time instead of 45 like in 2005.

from uefa.com

Quote :
"Maldini says his "great passion" for the game is what keeps him going in his 39th year, "and makes me want to keep on playing and winning things". Ensuring Ronaldo and Rooney stay quiet – as he did so comfortably in 2005 – may be key to adding to his trophy collection, although he reveals that Milan have no special plans for United's Portuguese tormentor-in-chief: "Ronaldo has everything – he's fast, good in the air, scores goals and is creative – but we don't man mark any players so, to a certain extent, he'll decide who marks him by where he is on the pitch.""

Probable Lineups:

Manchester United
Edwin van der Sar
Darren Fletcher
Wes Brown
Gabriel Heinze
John O'Shea
Michael Carrick
Paul Scholes
Cristiano Ronaldo
Ryan Giggs
Wayne Rooney
Alan Smith

Milan
Dida
Massimo Oddo
Alessandro Nesta
Paolo Maldini
Marek Jankulovski
Massimo Ambrosini
Andrea Pirlo
Gennaro Gattuso
Clarence Seedorf
Kaká
Filippo Inzaghi

how come Rooney sucks it up when he's really needed? This kid never makes crucial goals for Man U.

last goal was absolutely huge going into the san siro next week, at least now an old-fashioned 0-0 Milan draw won't get it done

Nah I like United - Charlton is my fav squad, but they're garbage - so I have to pick a second favorite...I just expect more from Rooney, and today he delivered

Oh yeah, don't forget this little nugget...

At Old Trafford.

At the San Siro it's going to be a fucking nightmare. 80,000 rabid Milanese supporters?

I just hope Gary Neville and Rio are back by then.

Any word on Vidic? I heard before that he was gone for the season, but then I heard about a week ago that he may actually be back to close it out? How long does it take a collarbone to heal?

After West Ham I guess I can go for Liverpool (though I like Newcastle second but they suck too recently).. gotta like Gerrard.

leg #1 of semi #2 - it'll be interesting to see what Chelsea looks like without either Essien or Ballack

also, from Mourinho, about Liverpool's recent knockout success

Quote :
"Mourinho, who is also concerned about his players - namely, Joe Cole, Lassana Diarra and Didier Drogba – who go into the match knowing that another booking will rule them out of next week's return, added that in league terms the Premiership champions have been vastly superior to Liverpool in recent campaigns. But their opponents have a record in knockout football deserving of respect. "I am not a statistics man but in the last three years I think Chelsea have 55 or 60 points more than them," he said. "We have to praise Liverpool for what they have done in knockout competitions, they have won the Champions League and the FA Cup and they are in another Champions League semi-final."

Probable Lineups

Chelsea
Petr Cech
Lassana Diarra
Ricardo Carvalho
John Terry
Ashley Cole
Shaun Wright-Phillips
Claude Makelele
Frank Lampard
Joe Cole
Didier Drogba
Andriy Shevchenko

Liverpool
Pepe Reina
Steve Finnan
Daniel Agger
Jamie Carragher
John Arne Riise
Steven Gerrard
Mohamed Sissoko
Javier Mascherano
Xabi Alonso
Dirk Kuyt
Peter Crouch

for the past few months i've been trying to figure out an English team which I can support when my favorite team, Panathinaikos (Greece) is out on vacation (which is earlier and earlier these days ), one that I can support without being a complete toolbag

still haven't figured out which

oh, and that one flick-on Drogba had that ended up going to waste... nasty
