This was the one season I started to get caught up in new shows and half of them get canceled. I think that hiatus and the drop off in action before it is what did this show in. A lot people gave up on it before it got really good in the second half. 5/15/2007 9:55:37 PM |

Everyone go to www.cbs.com ...At the bottom there is a feedback link. You can select the category to be related to Jericho. Everyone needs to give CBS some feedback on this. CBS has a whole new (and boring looking) fall lineup...but I sure as hell am not gonna watch any of it when they're just gonna cancel it at the end of the season anyway.
It's on yahoo now too: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070516/ap_on_en_tv/tv_new_season

What's funny is networks are less and less willing to give shows time to develop before they're cancelled, which means viewers are less willing to start watching a new show, which means new shows get lower ratings, which means the networks give them less of a chance...
and so on.
Before too long we'll be British style and have shows that are 2 6-ep seasons long...

Jesus fucking christ. You cancel Jericho and lave this garbage on. I mean really, a fucking Pussy Cats reality show?!?
You would think another network would pick up Jericho. It wasnt doing THAT bad in the ratings was it?
Atleast they let it last a season, unlike Smith which they canceled after 3 episodes. How you cancel something after 3 episodes is beyond me.5/16/2007 5:09:50 PM |

Sounds like everyone needed to give CBS some feedback on this months ago. Good luck getting the show uncanceled. It's only happened once, and only because of awesome DVD sales.5/16/2007 5:47:42 PM |

^ It happened with the Mole season 2. I think it was on ABC. They canned it after 2 or 3 episodes, and people were PISSED. They did the whole online petition thing and rabid feedback, etc., and ABC brought it back to finish out the season during the summer. The ratings for that were decent enough to have 1 or 2 more seasons (albeit it was celebrity mole, but still).
So it IS possible. (Though probably unlikely)

Comment on the CBS website... here is mine.
Quote : | "You have got to be kidding me. This is easily the best show you guys have for a very important demographic. People between 16-29 love this show and are a major consumer for many advertisers. Good luck with what sounds like a lame line up for next year. I don't think any of those shows will get you the viewers Jericho did. Especially if people feel like you might just cancel it on them after they get hooked on it. One more thing to consider... If you bring Jericho back, than all the articles that will be written will sound a lot like "CBS caters to their fans and after millions of complaints/feedback bring back the show" it's going to make CBS look good, and on top of that get more people to watch Jericho after seeing how so many people reacted. Just one man's opinion. " |

From the CBS exec:
Quote : | " To the fans of Jericho:
We have read your emails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment. Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision. Hundreds of people at the Network, the production company and the incredibly-talented creative team worked very hard to build and serve the community for this show -- both on-air and online. It is a show we loved too.
Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story.
Sincerely,
Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment " |

I dunno, that E-Mail sounds very re-assuring. They might do a second season with just a few episodes, like a end-of-show mini-series. Maybe an end-of-show TV movie. Most story lines could be cleared up in a creative way with just a few intense hours of TV.
I look forward to seeing what they come up with. That is, unless they come up with nothing; in which case I am disappointed. 5/19/2007 1:45:20 AM |
