They should both be on the team. Hamels has had a only a couple poor outings which skews the ERA a bunch

Kaz Matsui you sonofabitch...

Anyway, it's nice knowing that even when you lose the two teams behind you love to throw away chances to get closer. Once this team gets healthy again the rest of the division is going to be left in the dust...

C'mon Feliciano...

Beltran needs to fucking wake up. He's killing the offense right now.

[Edited on July 7, 2007 at 9:29 PM. Reason : god damn Feliciano is nasty...]

I've been watching baseball for a long time

And Beltran's catch on the hill was one of the finest I have ever seen

That was your typical Jim Edmond's esque running straight back over the head catch...

...except it was a tie game in the 14th inning and he made the play running at up a fucking hill, 410 feet from home plate.

I don't know how many 0-fers you can erase with one great play, but Beltran at least temporarily silenced the critics tonight.

The big question is: How does it compare to Endy's LCS catch last year?

I think you have to give it to Chavez based on the circumstances, but both will be on highlight reels for years to come.

When Rickey got the call, Rickey had to take the job

Rickey Henderson is the new Mets batting coach.

Julio Franco should just retire and coach. Forget the player part. I'd rather have Rickey pinch hitting...

----- Lastings called back up and will start tonight! He tore up AAA this year and is ready to make his mark I think.. We could use it.

whoa

Quote :
"Milledge was the Mets' top prospect when he made his major league debut in May 2006. In his first month, he showed off the considerable talent that made him such a highly coveted player, but also made his share of missteps on and off the field.

He was reprimanded for not running hard on the bases and also arrived late to the clubhouse for a game. Near the end of the season, a sign was posted in his locker at Washington -- "Know your place, rook. Your teammates," it said.

retarded sidenote to the thread:

in my MLB 2K7 franchise I did a fantasy draft...drafted Reyes first...anyway, about 75 games into the season, he has like 50 HR, 120 RBI, 15 3B, about 50 SB...batting like .480...from the leadoff spot lololol

Yeah, he has been a headcase but everyone says he has gone through a wakeupcall. So hopefully he is better this time around...

Oh, and the Mets DFA'd Franco... I'm good.

^ ahah... I simmed my first season and played a few games along the way but Reyes won MVP.. 19 HRs, 87 RBI, 133 R, 92 SB and a .410 OBP with the gold glove... but Bobby Abreu won AL MVP with 49 HRs and 130 RBIs... wtf.

Maine goes for his NL leading 11th win tonight.

Phils are playing some good ball... Braves are fading but that Phillies offense worries me...

The pitching is bound to get healthy at some point too...

Half the Phillies team is on the DL now with Victorino and Bourn going on yesterday to join Utley. They are playing great ball though and Hamels is a stud. Burrell has been tearing it up.

I think the Mets picking up Castillo was a good trade. He'll fit well into that lineup with his speed (granted he's not the SB threat he once was) and ability to make pitchers work.

Thank God the Brewers finally pulled it out last night. Fucking Lasting Milledge. His first sliding catch was bullshit and he did need to slide. The second catch was legit.

I'm sort of shocked the Phillies are playing well still with the injuries.

They should def. start Myers though. They don't have enough rotation depth to win the division with him as a closer...

I still think the Mets win it by 4-5 games.. but last night was a bad loss in a winnable game.

3 games... Reyes and Castillo 1 and 2 is going to be nasty once he gets settled. Last night the pressure they put on made Hardy make a huge error that led to the game being put away...

Plus he is a great defensive 2B...

^ I don't think the Braves are too concerned about C. They can always call up Brayan Pena from AAA too. He played okay last year when he had a chance.

Can someone please put a line drive in the side of Zambrano's skull. Jesus, he is annoying. Dude, you struck out Marlon Anderson in a game in early August. You didn't just win the World Series... chill.

At least he has thrown a TON of pitches and El Duque has been way more efficient.

^^ Still going to go in the Hall as a Brave

Big series tonight. The Braves will have to hit the shit out of the ball to have a chance, but with Renteria out and Andruw hurting, the lineup is not as dangerous.

I hope Tex hits a line drive off of ugly ass Oliver Perez's face and that makes him stop acting like a damn retard on the mound.

When I saw the dude who caught Bonds's 756 HR, for a second I thought it might be NyM410. He had on a Mets jersey, was fairly young, and I know that NyM410 goes to SF games and lives in that area.

Just fucking throw at Chippers chin god damn it. How the fuck can you let him get so comfortable in the box AB after AB.

This is pathetic. This team destroys everyone in the NL except the one fucking team I hate. Doesn't matter since ATL isn't a playoff team anyway but it's annoying as shit.

No wonder the Braves suck in the postseason. They blow their loads on beating the Mets. Another career minor leaguer with a game saving catch. Go figure.
