No need to worry too much. We needed Atsur today. Duke is the best defense in the country and you absolutely can't do any lazy passes against them. They were -"on"- offensively and when they're "on" offensively its gonna be tough for anybody to beat them. This was one of the top 3 games Duke has played all season. It seems like every team plays their a-game against state.

Duke played well but it's no coincidence that other teams have their 'best games' against us. We have absolutely ZERO defensive intensity and when the shots aren't falling we will lose... and big. Just the way it's going to be this year.

I really hope Lowe is as intense about the defense as he is about offense.. because to this point we are a very soft defensive team.

sids definitely doin a pretty lackluster job with his team's defense this year. but what differentiates him from herb is that we can have hope that he will actually adjust. he's said plenty of times b/f that he's open to new new schemes and some change, so im guessing he and his staff can figure out something that works. doesn't help that we've got costner and fells out there playing d either. i dont think lousy d will be a trademark of the lowe era.

Do you guys remember early in the season one of Sidney's main points was about defensive intensity, because, and I am paraphrasing here, you're gonna have bad shooting nights but if you play hard defense you can stay in the game until the shots start falling. I think he knows that this is a big problem but it seems like our guys are never playing with full intensity due to lack of depth and trying to last most of the game. I think this is just one of those things that we're gonna have to bear through for a season and see how things are going once Sid fills out his own roster....
