"pop a squat" is extremely common vernacular in the midwest and with other yanks. We say, "take a seat" or, "sit down," etc. and they say in a nasaly, high pitched yankee or midwestern accent, "pop a squat."

And nothing bugs me more than when someone says that a song is "by" someone when it is actually a cover. He said, "I'm singing When the stars go blue" by Tim McGraw. The song is by Ryan Adams... Tim McGraw just covered it.

But I agree about Blake. I thought he would do something more upbeat and fun...

Chris really wasn't all that bad..he kind of sounded like the Rascal Flatts guy...but I think the road ends for him tonight.

jesus, i can't believe i'm the first one commenting on tonight's show..... i'm the gheyest.... (my wife's fault for making me watch this show)

1) Melinda has an amazing voice. easily the best of the show. But i don't know if she's a real pop-star material (which is what they're making here, right?). She could be the #1 Gospel singer in the country or something

2) Time for LaKisha to go home. I wish the audience would shut up and let Simon talk. he really has good things to say. She is very bad in the low range, and yes, does end up shouting the rest of the time

3) Chris sucks. They should have railed on him last week (they liked him), but this week they got it right. Terrible song choice. Don't pick John Lennon unless you can nail the vocals, because they're so exposed over the music, and he couldn't do it.

4) Jordan really missed a lot of those high notes.... judges way too nice to her.... one of the best ever? bah

Phil was the one that was horrid
Blake and Chris were good (I thought). Chris was 2nd best that show.
Best that show (by a landslide) was Jordin... holy cow that was amazing (yes it was one of the best)
Lakisha or Phil will be going home.
