godzilla goes longball.

7-1 yanks.

looks like it's going to be 8 in a row.

and that bomb by a-rod hit the facing of the upper deck in left, on the left-center side of the upper deck....you dont see many go up there in left field. I can only think of one or two, and they were hit by guys named McGwire and Canseco

A-rod is having another MVP season....but it all means nothing if he chokes in the playoffs again.....and we will make the playoff's

i disagree with it "all meaning nothing if he chokes in the playoffs." We wouldnt get to the playoffs without A-Rod, plain and simple. He has singlehandedly won 5 or 6 games for us this year, and extended leads in others to the point where the game was basically over.

Good Point, however what I meant was if he chokes in the playoffs and we don't win another world series.....it means nothing to me. Oh and for the money we pay him he should do what he is doing during the reg season AND the playoffs in my opinion.....

^^^^^, Texas is paying him about 9M per year, they payed that much to unload him to New York when he came from the Rangers, so to get the "best player in baseball" for 16M a year is about the only Billy Beane that organization has pulled in last several years, course you don't have to if your account never goes dry.

This is so fucking annoying. Not only are the Yankees losing to the Mets AGAIN but I've got two Mets fans at my apt watching the game. My roommate and his Fiance. They're both talking shit and NEITHER of them knows a damn thing about the Mets. Hell, my roommate only roots for them b/c his fiance does

Someone PLEASE tell me why in the world you'd yank Wang one out short of a 2nd complete game in a row?!?!? Does he have really bad numbers against Delgado or something?

Good win tonight, probably one of the best pitching performances I've seen in person. 10Ks for Wang!

that was my rationale; his #'s against delgado musta been kinda sucky. i couldnt think of any other reason why he would be taken out with 1 out left in the 9th.

You better not get tix for the game when Dan Haren is pitching. Ya just can't beat that guy unless it's a very low scoring game. (<3 runs)

forgetting the Red Sox horrendous playing against the Rockies last week? altitude is a major issue on sports players, esp baseball players.

Looks like we're about to lose 7 of 8...at least we didn't walk in a run to lose this one!!!

ARod has over 30% of the HRs by the Yankees thus far this year. While some would say impressive, I say pathetic, given his teammates!!!

The Yankee$ are now 11 games behind the Red Sox. However what may be more impressive is that they are only 3 games ahead of the D-Rays and Royals. It is a good time to be a baseball fan.

Hop on board Pat. The massive migration of Yanks fans to the Orange and Blue is already underway. Plenty of room on the bandwagon.

Come on out to Shea and watch a real team... No sense going down with a sinking ship is there?

^ maybe some people root for 2 teams (eh hem, you), but real fans stick with their team through the rough times.

yea, the yanks have some holes this year, but people seem to forget we had a dynasty within the past 10 years....what have the fucking mutts done? And how about super-prospect Pelfrey, 0-6 6.11 ERA.

Real fans watch episodes of friends during Game 7 of the ALCS in 2003 only to jump around when that pos Boone hits the HR (^^^).

Seriously though, I make no bones that I'm a Mets fan first and above all and also a Sox fan also. I've been that way my whole life and I stick by them no matter how bad they areā€¦ and the Mets have been bad a lot more in my lifetime than good.

Pelfrey needs to get one good game under his belt. He pitched a lot better yesterday and a bad error by David Wright cost him the game. Maybe he should have an equipment burning on the field? That will surely get him going.

^Hey Bryan it doesn't mean I'm gonna stop going to games and watching games. Saying I don't think they'll make the playoffs doesn't mean I'm not a fan. It means I'm realistic

It seems like that today maybe but I grew up in the late 80's and early 90's when neither was as consistently good.

Not that I haven't gone over this before but my mom is from Boston and her side of the family are huge Sox fans and my Dad and his side are all Mets fans and we had season tix to the Mets for most of the late 80's and all the 90's.

I'm a fanatical Mets fan and more of a casual Sox fan (though I can probably answer any question anyone would have about the Red Sox)

--- just bored and giving you a hard time Pat...

Looooooong way to go before I get excited about anything.

With the next nine games against the D-Rays and the Blue Jays, there's definitely a chance to pick up some wins.

I hope.
