Did I say that?

You wanna talk about dragging shit out? Take a look at the millions of dollars spent trying to bust Clinton for lying under oath about a blow job.

And I'm not one to get on the bandwagon for silly shit like this. Foley gets busted for being a perv...I make a couple comments and move on.

At today's Senate testimony about the climate, exVP Gore was presented with, what is in essence, the "rich guy's energy pledge" by Senator Inhofe, pledging to use no more energy in his residence than the average American household. Gore declined.

The four-bedroom home was planned so that "every room has a relationship with something in the landscape that's different from the room next door. Each of the rooms feels like a slightly different place." The resulting single-story house is a paragon of environmental planning.

The passive-solar house is built of honey-colored native limestone and positioned to absorb winter sunlight, warming the interior walkways and walls of the 4,000-square-foot residence. Geothermal heat pumps circulate water through pipes buried 300 feet deep in the ground. These waters pass through a heat exchange system that keeps the home warm in winter and cool in summer. A 25,000-gallon underground cistern collects rainwater gathered from roof urns; wastewater from sinks, toilets, and showers cascades into underground purifying tanks and is also funneled into the cistern. The water from the cistern is then used to irrigate the landscaping around the four-bedroom home, (which) uses indigenous grasses, shrubs, and flowers to complete the exterior treatment of the home. In addition to its minimal environmental impact, the look and layout of the house reflect one of the paramount priorities: relaxation. A spacious 10-foot porch wraps completely around the residence and beckons the family outdoors. With few hallways to speak of, family and guests make their way from room to room either directly or by way of the porch. "The house doesn't hold you in. Where the porch ends there is grass. There is no step-up at all." This house consumes 25% of the energy of an average American home. (Source: Cowboys and Indians Magazine, Oct. 2002 and Chicago Tribune April 2001.)

That home belongs to George and Laura Bush in Crawford, Texas.

That shit pisses me off. Gore could do that.

that shit just pisses me the fuck off. Bush doesn't go around parading around urging the masses to buy the water treatment utilities that he has... he doesn't have this self-righteous attitude that Gore does. The plain and simple fact is that Gore is unwilling to do what he wants others to do.

Besides, planting trees could take a good 50 years to produce the amount of carbon offset that you release today. That whole concept is completely retarded.

To play a mild bit of devils advocate though, this could be a "dumb luck" situation in regards to pro-green stuff.

It's entirely likely the cost of these systems versus the alternatives were a no-brainer and that is why they were chosen, not specifically because they are green.

if he does it it's because of financial reasons

if gore does (more like, doesn't do it) it's because he cares about the enviroment

if we're really facing the crisis that he claims, why does he pollute

he should build a bunker, hide in it, and send out videos or webcasts

No, you clearly didn't get the point I was trying to make.

That is, laud Bush all you want to, but it is entirely likely he ended up green because it was financially feasible to do so. The same behavior every other non green American would exhibit.

This isn't to disparage him, or to take away from any hypocrisy you think Gore might have. It was just a statement.

When will you soap box hacks actually start being a bit level headed with your postings here and stop trying to twist every comment into a spark for whatever lame flame war it is you want to have in here.

2. Gore does not live eco friendly
3. He buys these "offsets" which are bullshit.
4. I raise evidence showing that even oil loving George Bush lives eco friendly.
5. You deride Bush for falling into a "dumb luck" situation
6. I say that it is telling that Bush chooses to live eco friendly while Gore purposefully chooses not to

I even stated again that I wasn't disparaging Bush and was only playing a small bit of Devils Advocate. Did I say it was dumb luck and that Bush was an idiot and he definitely didn't do it on purpose, or any other type of partisan-esque comment that you and TrollTwista toss around here without any regards to anything else?

How can I be anything but pissed off that a simple comment can't be debated in a fair and intelligent manner by fucks like you?

Thats great. But these things have nothing to do with the simple comment about Bush's house. Not a god damned thing.

I was giving a timeline of the entire thread.

Everyone says that everything that happens to Bush is not out of his merit alone but out of luck.

What I am saying is, debating your "little bit of devil's advocate," it doesn't matter if Bush did it by accident or not. That should not have even been debated here. That is clearly off topic all together.
