how about Ryan Doumit? the pittsburgh pirate player can play C/1B/OF in yahoo leagues and is doing well lately...is he gone too? also do you have to play individual infield positions in your league, or do you just play 4 "INF" positions?

I'm fucking feed up with Cano.

I already have Aaron Hill (2nd, SS), JJ Hardy (SS), R. Furcal (SS) and Cano (2nd). One of these fuckers has to go, and all signs are pointing towards Cano.

thoughts?

I've played Orlando Hudson 99% of the time and he is having an awesome season at 2B

i am also fed up with Cano...i'm HOPING that he will get his shit together, because one thing he has over a lot of other 2B is good bats in the lineup for him to knock in runs and get knocked in...its been pretty weak so far though...i mean fucking Miguel Cairo is starting today?

I already have Doumit. I have individual INF positions and a MI, CI, and IF.

Right now I have:
Teixeria 1B, CI, IF
B. Phillips 2B, MI, IF
E. Chavez (killin me, but he's my boy) 3B, CI, IF
Jeter SS, MI, IF
DeRosa (dropped him today)
Tejada SS, MI, IF
Doumit 1B, RF, OF, IF, CI
Iwamura (DL) 3B, CI, IF
K. Matsui (DL) 2B, MI, IF
H. Kendrick (DL, added to roster today) 2B, MI, 1B, CI, IF

So as you can see, I'm weak in the INF until I can get those guys off the DL. But I don't see anyone on the FA list who is worth dropping one of them for. Our league has 12 teams and the rosters are pretty large, so there's not much out there. I am in first place right now but getting beat pretty bad this week (team batting average is .146 so you see how my week is going.)

Sammy Sosa
(Tex - OF)

Chris B. Young

^ Try and swing a trade for a pitcher. I would not even consider dropping Hardy, Furcal, or Cano. You may be able to package Hill or Cano with another average player for a stud.

Does anyone else remember when ESPN's Baseball Tonight did that segment where they had a mock fantasy baseball draft and dumbass Karl Ravech was talking about taking Robinson Cano with the 2nd (or maybe 3rd) overall pick in the draft??

and to whoever said they were fed up with Cano, I'm fucking fed up with Rocco Baldelli's sorry ass, I keep wanting to drop him (since he has like 2 hits over his last 60 ABs) but then I see how highly ranked he was coming into the season and decide to hold out a little bit longer.

I hate the fact that all my pitchers seem to be getting hurt. Beckett, Street, Carpenter, Halladay, Hernandez, Wickman (even though he's back now). Next thing you know Hudson is going to get hurt.

I just traded Rollins, John Buck and Tim Lincecum for Randy Johnson, Eric Gagne and Brian McCann. I looked to upgrade my pitching staff which has been woeful this year. Randy finally has had a few starts under his belt and looking good, McCann is a huge upgrade over Buck whom has been a surprise so far and anything out of Gagne would be a plus. Buck and Lincecum were waiver pickups but I do hate to lose Rollins. I'll have to replace his speed but I upgraded at other positions, especially pitching. Now my staff looks pretty good with:

Bedard
Bonderman
Johnson
Glavine
Meche
Rivera
Hoffman
Gagne
Valverde

and Clemens on my bench.

wow...i mean the general consensus is that Utley is the best 2B in the game right now...even if Cano was 2nd...hell you'd be dumb to pick Utley with the 2nd or 3rd pick when you could get an A-Rod or Reyes

^^^that was an absolutely terrible trade for you. horrible

randy johnson is not what he use to be at at (still somewhat good though) but lincecum is better even though he's on the verge of going back to AAA because Ortiz is coming back

I don't see how they can demote him after going 6 innings so far with 10K's and 1 ER tonight (he still has one or two more innings in him)

i'm thinking of moving francisco cordero since i have like 5 closers, and i really need a bat and another good starter. i was thinking maybe him and nate robertson for smoltz and michael cuddyer. thoughts?

also, should i give up on abreu? he's been utterly disappointing

Who to add?

Have some fat to cut on my roster and looking to add a bat, who's worth a shot on my bench between:

Damion Easley, 2B/SS NYM
Fred Lewis, OF SF
Christian Guzman, SS WAS

All are seeing the ball really well right now but I've got obvious drawbacks about each. Easley seems like the easiest pick, but is he a full time starter from here on out even if he keeps up the hitting? Lewis is hot but very green, no telling what he might do. Guzman was recently injured and playing for a pretty inept offense. Also, here are a few other FA's that I'm not considering, but they're putting up big numbers recently so I could be convinced:

Angel Pagan, OF CHC
Esteban German, 2B KC
Greg Dobbs, 1B PHI
Tony Gwynn, OF MIL
Carlos Gomez, OF NYM
Tony Pena, SS KC
Jason Michaels, OF CLE
Cesar Izturis, SS CHC
Matt Murton, OF CHC
Mike Napoli, C ANA

^^He put up stellar numbers since getting called up, but here's CBS' and Rotoworld's take:

"Pagan has minimal Fantasy value, but he's worth keeping an eye on to see how he does."

"Felix Pie couldn't get one start in the first nine days of the month before being sent down today, but Pagan is up and gets penciled right into the lineup. It helps that he's a switch-hitter, whereas both Jacque Jones and Pie are lefties. Maybe this will lead to more starts against lefties for Pagan, but he shouldn't have any fantasy value."

tough call...i think Glavine will play well against his former team, who has struggled lately...but Bonser had 11K his last start (if i'm not mistaken) and Texas hasnt really had great batting

^^ I'd take Glavine. Bonser is inconsistent and besides his first year in NY, Glavine has pitched well against the Braves. Plus the Braves hitting has been a joke the past week other than the 14 runs on Sat in the 2nd game of the double header.

in 17 starts (101.2 IP) vs. ATL, glavine is 3-10 with a 5.39 ERA

the rangers offense has turned around a bit lately, but i'd go with boof

yeah Boof is coming around and has had a few good starts in a row

I'd pull the trigger on that Peralta/Cordero trade...relievers are hard to come by while SS is a pretty deep position

what do you think about dropping Akinori Otsuka and picking up Joakim Soria? Otsuka has been good when he's in the game, but with Gagne off of the DL he hasnt been getting a lot of appearances

soria has blown three saves this month but has more strikeouts than IP

i guess some saves would be better than no saves

i have a hard time trusting a 23 year old closer though, especially one who pitches for the royals

last week's write up in SI was pretty interesting though, sounds like he'll be solid down the road

well after commenting about Otsuka and Gagne splitting time, I just read that Octavio Dotel is about to come off of the DL so he will take over the closer role and Soria will become a middle reliever again

so I'll keep Otsuka

That is all skewed by his first season with the Mess in 04. His ERA was nearly 7 against the Braves that year. The past three seasons, he has been in the mid to low 3s. Bonser has more potential with his Ks and that fact that Texas sucks so he may get a W too, whereas the Braves could hang an L on the Mets since Smoltz will be going against Glavine.

I get: Scott Kazmir, Chris Ray, Ryan Zimmerman, and AJ Pierzynski (sp?)

I give: David Wright, Oliver Perez

That seems almost too good to be true even though I love the two guys I'm giving up. I can use some more saves since Flash Gordon is on the DL, Zimmerman won't have as good power numbers as Wright given his team/ballpark but he is solid, and I gotta think Kazmir will end up about the same as Oliver Perez.

Yes/No?

Another trade is Konerko/Crede for Wright. The thing is I have Delgado as my 1B and he is killing me but Konerko hasn't been better.. I'll probably pass on that one.

Josh Hamilton on 15 day DL

May 21 The Dayton Daily News' Hal McCoy reports Cincinnati Reds OF Josh Hamilton (stomach illness) took early batting practice Monday, May 21 but was held out of the game. "He's feeling better and looks a little better and is available to pinch-hit, but I didn't think he looked quite well enough to play," Reds manager Jerry Narron said.

May 20 Hamilton was sent back to Cincinnati by the Reds on Sunday to be checked out by team doctors a day after he had been diagnosed with gastroenteritis.
Advice: It is not known whether Hamilton will be available Monday when the Reds open a four-game series at home against the Washington Nationals. His comeback from alcohol and drug addiction has been one of baseball's most inspiring stories this season. He was named the NL's top rookie in April after hitting six homers and driving in 13 runs.

Who else are you dropping? Who is your current catcher? Wright is starting to get hot and Perez will probably win more games than Kazmir because of the Mets awesome lineup. Ray is good, but other than saves, he can hurt you (he has had couple of really shitty appearances already this year). Zimmerman is solid, but since he is a Nat, he automatically is second tier. I hate AJ and he is basically good for 15 HRs, 70 RBIs, but since he is so slow he never scores any runs.

I don't like trades where I give up the best player (Wright).

I don't like that trade either...Kazmir will end up contributing more than Perez I think, but Wright is too valuable. You're basically giving up a first round pick and late round breakout for a closer, a couple 5-8 rounders that aren't performing like they should and a throw in.

It's a decent amount in return, and if you are seriously hurting for saves maybe not so bad, but I think you could get a whole lot more.

^^ Bonds has sucked the last 2-3 weeks unless you have a BB category. Hamilton is on the DL and had not done shit in the past 2-3 weeks either. I suspect that there are other players on your team that are playing well or that you are in a horrible league.

Just something about Jose Cruz is telling me that he is going downhill and won't put up very good numbers from here on out.

Top Available OF's:
Pence
Fred Lewis
L. Gonzalez
Church
Nady
Duffy
Diaz
Payton
Floyd
Shannon Stewart
J. Bautista

Should I add any of those?
Current OF's:
Cruz
Doumit (UTL more than anything)
Hamilton
Hunter
Willingham
Rowand
Delmon Young
Willits
