Yeah online polls are never a great representation of what the world thinks. It only represents what the people who do online polls think.

and look at some of the rediculous polls there. All that obviously isn't the general opinion of the world, it's just how the poll turned out. For example some of the polls on there say the majority of people believe Aliens have already been discovered and prostitution should be legalized.

That in no way reflects the general opinion of the world though. It's too hard to make that type of poll. You'd have to try to get an un-biased poll which involves polling random people in random locations and that's just too hard to do in regard to the best beach in the world.

so a friend of mine went down to myrtle and there was NOWHERE left to stay. everything booked out. After 4 hours of searching he finally found a place that could only do Thursday night. For the weekend, he can forget it.

Its really mind boggling that myrtle could ever get all booked up like this with the nonstop oceanfront hotels they have. Insane.

remember i'm not the one that said myrtle is the best beach in the world. that was yahoo users. im just saying that its a great beach.

you don't have to like it but theres no way a shitty beach would be voted best beach in the world.

I think the current plan is to put condos on the old pavilion site but i also heard about possibly moving the strip out a block and destroying the hotels a block south of there and creating a huge oceanfront plaza of condos and shopping (i guess something like north hills) ripleys on north will not be touched. Hopefully something cool goes there.

The guy probably went to m beach in january when the beaches weren't packed, and they were all clean, there was no noise, and he was always first in line at broadway. no crazy lookin people on the street, no drunk homeless crackheads lookin for that extra 57cents, and best of all, all the $1.99 shops were closed.

the poll was obviously an ad inspired poll. you have to understand the source of a poll to give ANY credit to a poll. for the most part online polls are nearly NEVER accurate. if youve been around TWW long enough like you say you have, you will have seen how easy it is for a small group of people to skew a huge vote even on ESPN to get anyone we want to to win.

Understanding the slight difference in personal opinions, youre going to find WAY better answers to things like "top 10 beaches" on a show on the travel channel etc. where advertising a certain location is not the main focus and to the best of my knowledge their opinions come from visiting all the beaches they rank extensively and not from a biased online vote (if any even occured for this).

i havent been to enough beaches to rank the top 10 in the world, but as ive said before, myrtle isnt even near the top of my list NOW and I have a lot of other beaches i still want to visit

It really depends on the season too. One beach could be totally beautiful at the right time but if you visit it say a few months later when seawood and driftwood is getting washed ashore with dead fish and jellyfish, then that beach is not so hot anymore.

I think the best beaches I've been to are Nha Trang, Vietnam, Nice, France (French Riviera), Capri, Italy, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

My next stop is Australia if possible someday.

Some of the best scuba diving could be found too in Belize, Grand Caymans, and Vietnam. But that's off the subject.
