also, the whole eli thing. i have to comment...
-eli came to daniel and said his name was paul
-HW asked "paul" how many sisters he had, "paul" said TWO
-then they got to the ranch and daniel asked how the sunday family fared in the earthquake
-able sunday said all FIVE of "us" were fine after the quake
i noticed this immediately when paul said he was eli. he had to have been infuckingsane

so

able + wife + sister + sister + eli = FIVE of "us"
able + wife + sister + sister + eli + paul = NOT five of "us"

amiright?

^^paul and eli aren't the same

the five of them were fine after the quake means the five of them that were currently there, not including paul

plus at then end of the movie, the look of failure and disbelief on eli's face when DDL tell's him about all the money he gave to paul pretty much tells you they're not the same person

it's really a moot point whether eli & paul are the same person - it's never been cleared up by the director or actors & it doesn't really matter

anyway, i have thought about it for a good ten minutes and while i too agree that it was artfully done and had pretty music and all that happy horse shit, i outright hated it. the end.

A different actor was set to play Eli and Paul Dano was set to play Paul.

The guy playing Eli quit so PTA asked Dano to do it.

Eli is not Tyler Durden.

it def shares some themes with several movements, or whatever you music people call them
