Vince Young should have been taken #1.


Mario has been having a good year. But not taking Young cost the Texans star power, and 2 spots in the draft.

Young has had more success, was offense ROY and has a winning record as a starter.

And as pointed out. Look who the hell he has to throw to. Is Young having a down year? He sure is. But no taking Young cost the Texans a lot more than some stats and some wins.

If they had taken Young, then they would not have had to trade their 7th pick to the Falcons for Schaub and the Falcons 10th. They might could have moved up one spot to 6th and taken Peterson and had a dominant runner. Probably couldn't have happened, but they would have been in a much better position as far as picks and overall organizational structer by not taking Williams.

Young did great last year, is having a down year this year mainly because he has nobody to throw to. I would hardly say he sucks. And Schaub has been average/above average at best and has had injuries. I would hardly claim he has been good. Hell, they have a losing record.

Reggie Bush was/is more popular than Young, and I didn't see him winning. Either way, both Young and Williams have been injured, and show signs of brilliance. Right now its almost too hard to tell who came out ahead. Both have great things to offer, and have done great things for their respected franchises. I suppose it wouldn't be as big a debate if the Texans hadn't stuck with Carr over Young.

Only time will tell, but like I said, they are pretty much even right now IMO.

Schaub has missed several games this year and they are starting a QB named Sage. That should tell you why they have a losing record. But hey they are having their best season in franchise history. The Texans have improved since picking Mario, I don't see how you could say otherwise.

Doesn't Elvis Dumervil just play on passing downs? He's basically a pass rushing OLB at the pro level, having ~11 sacks and ~25 total tackles. A nice little gimmick player to take inthe 3rd round, but he's definately not having a better year than Mario who has helped transform that rush defense from the league's laughing stock to ~formidable.
