I think the question is how do we know there are 5-6 really good SEC teams? Obviously LSU, UGa and Florida are really good.. but is Kentucky? They needed a MIRACLE to beat a really shitty Louisville team IN Lexington. Alabama got beat relatively easily by a mediocre FSU team. Auburn got beat at home by a decent, but not great USF team and got played close by a shitty K-State team. MSU, who has is pretty good in the SEC, got absolutely STEAMROLLED by WVU...

i'm still not convinced that the SEC's conference schedule is as strong as their PR people claim it is... but that's only something they can prove by consistently beating decent OOC opponents...

like i said, we'll see around bowl time if they're really as dominant as they've been hyped to be all year long... with 11 teams bowl eligible (well, possibly) and probably at least 9 will get into games we'll have a nice sampling

anyway, it's still weird to me to see the ESPN logo on ABC... and Big 10 football games remind me of circuses for some reason... i think it's the bands

^^^ I disagree... if you actually watch the games you can tell. There is a difference between getting beat by a good team and just fucking up and losing. If you actually watch the games then you can tell who is good and who isnt. And I dont agree with the bowl idea either, you have a month to prepare, its one game etc. I really dont think bowl results is a good way to measure conference vs. conference, anything can happen in one game. For example, i dont think that Florida was THAT much better than Ohio State last year... they were a LOT better, but I think if they played 10 times in a row a majority of them would be closer than that

The heart these players showed in salvaging a season after a freak fluke start is unparalleled.

Though their collective talent was superior to most of the nation, injuries cannot be overcome, and the coaching was simply too tired.

The silver lining is now maybe we'll win a damn bowl game.
