i assume the rumors were that she was leaving or something.
the "hub-bub" was about a comment she made last night. After one of the guys first performances, she said something like "that song was good, much better than your first song of the night"..... but he had only sang one song.
the problem was that all the singers do full rehearsals before the shows that the judges watch (and they film the rehearsals and gather clips from them) and Paula, i guess because she was hopped up on something, got confused and was thinking that one of the rehearsal songs was his first live song of the night. so there were accusations that the whole show is staged and rigged and whatnot, but it was really just paula being air-headed

Well, pretty dissapointed about tonight. nothing was wow that was good. The baba o riley by cook wasn't too bad, but I'm partial to the Peral Jam version in the 90's. Archie annoys the piss out of me now, he'll win & god knows what kind of clay aiken type record he'll make.

siesha was pretty good, i think i like her better when her hair is styled, maybe that's racest of me..i'm not sure.

the pot hippy sucked ass. He's knows it about over so he just hits the bong before everyshow now, the little girls are carrying him though. I don't know what type of albumn he'd make.

still hoping cook can avoid being voted out this week..could be him & pothead in the bottom 2 or pothead & the black girl

Who else noticed Jason mouthing the words "don't vote" after performing the Bob Marley song? I swear he was trying to lose. Maybe he was just tired of being on the show, or he had a record deal waiting for him and wanted to hurry up and lose, but I think he was sucking on purpose. At least he's off the show, finally.

David Archuleta is a smarmy douche and makes me want to vomit every time he performs, but you have to keep in mind that American Idol isn't purely a talent competition, it's a search for who's the most marketable. David Cook and Carly Smithson have better talent and showmanship, but Archuleta is the best candidate for the title of "American Idol" because the vapid little teenyboppers that comprise the target market are creaming their pants over him and will buy all his shit. I hope Cook comes in second or third so that he can get a record deal that allows him to perform in his own element, instead of being limited to the mindless pop crap that the Idol recording contract always forces on its artists. After Archuleta's star fades, he'll have a career ahead of him singing on Disneyworld parade floats.

No, they don't owe anything. They don't get paid to be on the show, except room & board, so why would they owe anything? The "losers" can go on to do whatever they want. They just can't sign record contracts while they're still contestants.

Damn what a boring show that turned out to be. The producers really screwed David Archuletta over (dan fucking fogleberg?). Syesha is getting better, but is simultaneously becoming more annoying somehow.

David Cook is good, but even he seemed pretty off tonight. The Roberta Flack song was great, but he went downhill after that. Still, if he doesn't win, I'll be shocked.

The producers put them through to Hollywood, but america does all the rest. True, FOX makes them larger than life, but they're all talented.

People can knock this show all they want, but you can't deny that it's produced some of the country's most talented singers, most of which would have never been heard from had it not been for the show.

that's great, and I agree. The part about the producers was just cynicism. They are talented, no doubt, and i guess they deserve to sell albums or whatever.

My point is, though, that 8 weeks ago these kids were just other nobodys. David Cook could have walked through the halls of his high school and nobody would have given him a second glance, but now he goes through and there, again, are literally girls crying when they see him and people giving him their baby. I'm just saying, it's absurd how being on a TV show for a couple weeks will make strangers react to the mere sight of you....
