We are just playing too inconsistent this year. Not from game to game, we consistently suck , but from minute to minute. We go on good runs, get a lead and don't finish it. We go on 8-10 minute scoring droughts (though tonight was better). Gonzalez did show some hope tonight. Not really too upset about the last shot, that's a lot to ask from a freshman. He had to take that shot, I think he was a little shocked he was that open. McCauley needs more playing time, he is just so smart with the basketball, his vision is unbelievable. Costner is just flat up lost this year. However, one thing did come from this game tonight. The refs proved you could start from the 3 point line and dunk the ball without dribbling...pretty amazing.

So, have you watched any of the other games this season? They've won a good number of the close games, and they played this one down to the last play. Get a grip, this is the ACC. If you watched the other games we lost this season (and some we won too) then you should be ok (hell maybe even happy) with tonights performance.

^^Yes I watched those games and overall no I am not pissed with tonight's game or effort, the team is much improved and I am not about to tear my hair out like I was after some of those games. Happy? Not quite, I could do without the scoring droughts that allow teams to get back in the lead when we have the momentum to blow them out (this even happened in the Miami game).

meh, i don't pull for them to lose like i did with some of herb's teams, particularly the one that lost by 20 in the first game of the acc tourney to wfu, i sincerely hoped that team lost everything, they sucked the most cock possible

i still hope state wins now, but it begins to become somewhat numb once they show that they will not contend for any sort of title yet again (after 20+ years)

A major issue is our team needs to learn how to run off picks. We have all these set offenses with picks all over the place and other teams just brush right past them. we never get switches or anyone free. don't run offenses where we set tons of picks if nobody on the team sets/runs off them correctly.

this team is so lost, i said it was coaching and not a "heart" issue, well tonight I saw a team playing very hard but they were just completly lost. so much energy is wasted on the offensive end and nothing is ever produced.

Back to the Causey argument, he was not "pushing off" per say





but he fucking shoved Javi with is elbow as hard as I've ever seen as often as he could. That one bullshit and 1 foul on Javi....Causey elbows him in the chest, turns around, shoots a clean shot, doesnt get touched, foul on Javi. Pretty simple. He looks like a bitch though so at least we have that on him.

i feel that same way. i honestly don't think we're going to do much this year, so seeing some kind of improvement from game to game is important. javi played much better, and we actually showed some intensity. next step: cut down on the turnovers.

I was infuriated at the uncalled walk on the break and the Hickson foul after Lawal traveled. Of course, with more consistent execution we would have won the game anyway. Home games against teams like Georgia Tech are what separate middle tier ACC teams from the bottom of the conference.

gotta give credit to javi for a much improved performance (can't dwell on that last shot too much).... our team as a whole at least maintained better intensity than in past games.

the crowd was pretty supportive too. the wpc side was great all game. we were on the opposite sideline and i was pretty dissapointed in all of the freshmen in the courtside seats who didn't know how to cheer, couldn't yell, and had no idea what any of the lyrics were to the school songs. how about clapping! yea, that would be a great start..

It would be nice if we could put some distance between us and a team, instead of being ahead by 3,4,5 and then giving it up. Also, you can't not play defense and let a team score on their last seven possessions at the very end of the game and expect to leave yourself much of a chance to win.
