I had a week off from work so in between skiing trips I've been playing mostly Free for All to get my level up. I'm a Level 16 now, so I can play all modes.

Ground War seems to be my favorite, but I'm still at a disadvantage weapons/perks wise...

Bad ass game though (I never played COD4 for whatever reason so I don't have anything to compare with)

i find playing headquarters helps you level up quickly but only if your team goes for the headquarters

the longer you possess it you continue to get points - i'm a bastard though and sit back and pick off people

my k/d ratio is like 1.1 because i sucked so bad when i first started

Headquarters is the mode to level up in. I seen people get 900 points in like 20 minute games.
Furthermore, do all the challenges for each weapon its worth it. Once you get to 60 shit takes forever... i've been 62 for like 2 weeks with 2 of my roommates playing just as much as i do.

the best thing about headquarters is when your team lays a shit ton of bouncing betties around the headquarters before the other team gets there

even if you die they stay until you respawn

i've found that betties are one of the most essential things to use in the game

the under-map on roundhouse definitely isn't fixed. some guy on the opposing team went 17-2 from there last night. complete bullshit. I can't wait till they tie all that shit down so those people will have to do some real fighting.

ive only been playing online for about an hour, so im still learning the best strategy for the different maps.

what strategies do you all use for nazi zombies? we usually stay downstairs and open the help room after a few rounds. one person watches the two windows and one watches the door and tag team the wall.

Whenever I've played recently I've had kids insisting that we had to use glitches that I've never heard of.

I usually just get everyone into the Help room and then get 2 guys with HMGs to guard the door while the other two cover the windows and wall hole. Always make sure that somebody is taking advantage of the flamethrower.

well i leveled out of bootcamp finally (im 8 or 9 now) and was tearing up in regular team deathmatch on large maps. on small maps and free for all i get my ass handed to me though. I have good aim and good strategy for large maps, but in maps where it is faster action i just dont have fast enough reflexes yet.

That all comes in time. Just make sure you have the right setup when playing a smaller map. A submachine gun will be a lot more successful in CQC than a rifle. Also there is really no use for the bazooka or satchel charges on a smaller map. Once you level up and receive the bouncing betties using these in several well placed areas will guarantee 3-4 extra kills a round.




one habit i've found myself getting back into is using a go-to setup. I got into this pretty bad with COD4 in which i would never spend enough time leveling up the different guns. I would always revert back to a setup that i was the sharpest with to make sure that i had a good K ratio. I'm gonna try to play some longer HQ and Domination matches tonight with different guns in hopes to level up a little faster and maybe find something else I really enjoy using instead of just owning all in Team Deathmatch with my Thompson.

double post, but i joined the callofduty.com forums today to read some of the posts and find out what's going on on the ps3 side of things. Sadly to report it seems as if Treyarch has completely dropped all communication on their end as far as updates or a status of a patch. I was unaware of many of the small problems this game has aside from the under-map cheaters.

As fun as this game is I think I may actually drop back to CoD4 for the time being.

wtf i was getting rocked by artillery and dogs the whole time - that guy should just give up

btw my fav weapon is the FG42 - its freaking nasty but you have to be at level 45 (I use the thompson on smaller maps and the mp40 on larger maps up until that point)

The best set-up in the whole game is a semi-automatic rifle with rifle grenades, fireworks and martyrdom perks, and a gas and a sticky nade, and of course the 357 magnum.

Yeah, with that set-up you have the ability to kill tanks, and use the same items effectively against people on foot without a hassle. You can work well and long, medium, and close range, and its just awesome overall. I am SO good with rifle grenades, that if I lay my eyes on you you may as well prepare to respawn, no matter how far you are from me.

^^^ It fucks their shit up. The sticky nade also rapes the tank. Try to stick it to the treads of the tank.

^^^ One of the most aggravating experiences I've had on CoD5 was starting a match on Upheaval and some guy on the opposing team immediately fired a rifle grenade across the map which hit a car and exploded, killing 4 of us at once. He couldn't even see the car from where he launched it, so I assume that it was either dumb luck or he knew to aim for it.
