yeah the depth chart looks really good. Fortunately this season we seem to finally have some quality depth at about every position. TOB is finally shaping the team to the way he'd like for it to look.

Anybody heard how Colby Jackson is progressing? I'm excited to see what he'll be able to do for us. I know it's a fake character, but his style of play kind of reminds me of Tim Riggins from Friday Night Lights, minus the drinking and trashiness off the field.

What does your Top 25 look like for next year?

1) Florida
2) Texas
3) Oklahoma
4) tOSU (more b/c they won't have too much competition in the Big Eleven)
5) USC
6) Alabama
7) FSU (maybe if everything comes together for them)
8) LSU
9) Ok State
10) VT
11) PSU
12) Ole Miss
13) GT
14) USF
15) Iowa
16) BYU
17) Boise State
18) Cal
19) Nebraska
20) TCU
21) Minnesota (the Golden Gophers return 10 starters on offense and 9 starters on defense)
22) Oregon (I'm hesitant with this one since Belotti stepped down)
23) Georgia
24) Rutgers
25) NC State

Kay Yow Spring Football Game Set For April 18

RALEIGH, N.C. – The newly named Kay Yow Spring Football Game is slated for 1 p.m., Saturday, April 18 at Carter-Finley Stadium.

While there is no admission charged for the game, Wolfpack coach Tom O’Brien requests that all adult fans donate a minimum of $1 as they enter the stadium in honor of late NC State women’s basketball coach Kay Yow.

All funds collected at the game will be given to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund, part of the V Foundation for Cancer Research.

“Kay Yow was a remarkable person and I’m proud that I had the chance to work with her for an all-too-brief period of time,” O’Brien said. “Her toughness, perseverance and faith have been inspirational to countless people and our coaches and team are proud to have a chance to honor her in this way.”

Parking lot gates will open at 9 a.m. for the game, with stadium gates opening at noon. Fans are asked to enter at Gates 1-4. Seating will be limited to the West grandstands.

Immediately following the game, players and coaches will meet with fans on the upper concourse for 30 minutes.

Subscribers to PackPass, GoPack.com's premium subscription service, can watch a live video stream of the game, with Gary Hahn and Tony Haynes calling the action. The game will be available in the Triangle on 99.9 FM, the flagship radio station for Wolfpack football.

For the third consecutive year, the spring game will be the centerpiece of the former football players’ reunion weekend. All former players are invited to attend Friday’s practice and to a private reception at Vaughn Towers. Players will also have a section reserved for seating Saturday’s game.

I briefly looked and did not see this already posted in the thread.

Quote :
"Ajiboye suspended for team reasonsComment Email Print Share Associated Press

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says starting defensive lineman Ladi Ajiboye has been suspended indefinitely.

Spurrier says Ajiboye is suspended for team reasons but is still in school.

Ajiboye has started 21 games the past two seasons. He has not taken part in the Gamecocks first two spring practice sessions.

Spurrier said Ajiboye won't practice or be part of team activities. He said he'll revisit the issue in a week or two.

Sophomore Travian Robertson practiced in Ajiboye's spot Tuesday."

^^^ Agreed, in other words slap on the wrist and he'll be back by the time of the opening kickoff. Not surprising in the least for South Carolina. Anybody remember during our game last year when they said they caught a couple of the players raiding a fridge in the football facilities on camera and they sat them out like 2 plays for that . Stupidity and Steve Spurrier football justice. Please cue up the prisonbreak photo again!!!!!!!

Okay. Sorry for telling things how they are. We suck. Someone is to blame.

Look at the excitement in this thread. It comes from knowing we have a coach who will improve us.

I am damned excited about football season, and I honestly don't think we should be talking about the basketball program in the countdown to football thread. There are other threads specifically for that. I think we will get our winning season in football this year, and anything beyond that is just icing on the cake.

1973 ACC Football Player of the Year, Willie Burden (No. 10), scores the game-winning touchdown in a 1973 win over North Carolina at Carter-Finley Stadium. Burden, who led the Wolfpack to the 1973 ACC Championship, will be inducted in the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame on May 14th. Burden becomes the 35th former NC State player, coach, staff or alumni in any sport to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and 9th football member. A native of Raleigh and one of NC State’s first African-American football recruits, Burden became the school’s first 1,000-yard rusher during his senior season (remember that freshmen didn't play back then). He still ranks in the school’s top 10 career rushers with 2,529 yards and 22 career touchdowns.

N.C. State’s football members of the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame (Year inducted in parenthesis)

Jack McDowall, football (1965)
Roman Gabriel, football (1971)
Earle Edwards, football (1974)
Ted Brown, football (1995)
Jim Ritcher, football (1999)
Connie Mack Berry, football, baseball, basketball (2000) (one of the few individuals to ever play all three sports professionally
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connie_Mack_Berry)
Carey Brewbaker, football (2004)
Dennis Byrd, football (2007)
Willie Burden, football (2009)
