ok i'm watching it now, and my critique so far:

danny - once again, first half is terrible, second half he rocks it out
kris - was a little slower than it was supposed to be, but wasn't all that bad
lil rounds - meh, not impressed at all
anoop - not good, boring, snore fest
scott - OMG NO PIANO HOLY SHIT...but not good at all...ouch my ears, die blindy die.
allison - best of the night...so far.
matt - pretty damn good, he's now the best of the night.

AND THEN THE DVR CUT OFF AT 9:04pm and I DONT GET TO SEE ADAM

i just saw adam's performance on the internets. while i don't think it's his best performance ever, i definitely think it was the best of the night and it really was a great song for him. he did great, fabulous, and totally deserves the american idol title...just go ahead and give it to him now.

i actually thought it was kinda garbage. i usually like adam, but this sucked.

maybe it is just b/c i like that version of the song and his was just garbage.

i mean, he kinda ruined ring of fire too but at least he made it diff enough from the real version that you wouldnt compare the two.

"mad world" by adam - it wasnt just his singing, it was every aspect of the performance. connected to the song emotionally, didn't oversing it like i think he normally does... aside from the fuckup at the very end it was an unbelievable performance that made everyone else look completely amateurish. it was almost embarrassing for the other contestants to see the replays of all the performances after that.

With the lip-sync revelation from last week curiosity got the better of me, so I watched the opening "act". Whoa. How is this show popular again? All the guy singers had a strong effeminate vibe and that one chick still looks like an extra from a Flintstones movie.

I seriously hope that all the guys that watch this are doing so under duress from a significant other or potential significant other.

Yeah, so people have different tastes in stuff. Sorry, I should just stay out of the thread if I don't like the show.
