I'll be there Sunday, about 20 rows up at the finish line. Thankfully, I'm not paying for this ticket, otherwise I'd just stay home.

^I've sat in that area a few times. The one thing I don't like over there is that you can't see pit road. However, they should still have the large tv screen out there that shows the stops. Or, you could just see everyone after they get out of the pits.

^^it should say on the website, but we took one about the size of a case of beer once and they let it through. i wouldn't suggest it though. it leaves you no leg room at all.

Jimmie Johnson on Danica Patrick about coming to NASCAR:

Quote :
"Come on over, although not until you’re ready. And, trust me, you’re not ready.

“If she’s serious about doing it, she needs to spend a year or two, while racing IRL, running ARCA, running trucks, running Nationwide and really understanding the difference in the vehicles,” Johnson told Yahoo! Sports last week.

“Otherwise, she’s going to be put in a tough situation. … You can’t just show up in the Cup Series and go.”

“For our sport, I’d love to see it,” he said. “This is where I make a living; this is the sport I love and whatever we can do to make our sport stronger I’m in favor of.”

"

So last year at the all star race I had tickets in diamond terrace i think turn 1, where should I try for tickets this year? I am thinking of going online and getting em on craigslist or scalping out there, what do you guys suggest? GO JR!!!

diamond terrace is really only turn 2. grand national tower is turn 1.

we had all-star race seats last year in the grand national tower and i thought they were great. sat in the ford section before too, but i didn't like it as much. my uncle says the seats down toward the turn 4 end of the front stretch (high letter chrysler or low letter 4th turn terrace) are good, but i've never had a chance to sit there.

imo, chrysler is the section, you get to watch people come to a halt on pit road and the race off turn 4 to lead a lap, not to mention you can see everyting on the track from row 8 on up. if this is you, or a friends first race, sitting anywhere will be fine as long a you dont sit at the end of 4th turn terrace. family section(no drinking)

once you see a race from the front stretch youll never want to sit else where

looks like im gonna try and meet up with a few low key drivers before the race if no one wants to tail gate with jr nation

The Stewart - Fans relationship has had some questionable moments throughout his career.

This is a marathon, but boring as shit. That levagation race was at least fun to watch for 7 hours

Watching him from the frontstretch, I was amazed that he was able to keep that car off the wall and/or grass. His car also sounded like it was down on power compared to most everyone else. When I wasn't listening to the car, I was listening to his team radio. The only time I remember hearing Tony Jr. was right before pit stops. There's no real communication with that team, except unfortunately for the spotter telling him someone is coming up on him. Either way, between Jr's awful run, the weather, and lack of action for the most part, I'd have to say it wasn't the greatest race I've seen. But, it was a good time, hopefully next time, the race will be a little more exciting, and less delayed.

FWIW, there's not a lot if talking on most teams radios until cautions or pit stops or something breaks or there's a crash.

^^Yeah, I know that, but with some other teams I've listened to at past races (the 48, 20 when Stewart was there, 24), they would talk more than that. Listening to Eury after being told what was wrong, it sounded like he was just completely guessing. The other guys would have something planned out, and many times, turn things around. Needless to say, it didn't quite happen today. I put that on both Earnhardt and Eury. Jr would basically say what was wrong, then you would hear Eury right before the stop. There is just no communication at all with them, and none of them are on the same page.

Also, Delana Harvick in the drivers suit, very nice.

"CONCORD, NC (WBTV) - Tony Eury Jr. has been fired as crew chief for Dale Earnhardt Jr."

As a crew chief, McGrew has posted victories in all three of NASCAR's major touring series: Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck. He has won races with drivers Vickers, Jeff Gordon, Ricky Hendrick, Kyle Busch, Mark Martin and most recently Tony Stewart Feb. 14 at Daytona Beach, Fla.

^^I remember a few of us saying that. I wish he didn't come when Jr. left DEI.

^I have the same feeling. It shouldn't have taken a 40th at Charlotte to make this change. Now, he's about 200 points out of the top 12. I know it can be done, but it's going to be a hell of a tough time trying to make it into that group.

wel the good thing is that its maybe possible to make the chase, but the ones that are gonna be in it are gonna have such an advantage because of wins, most lead laps. i dont see him getting better than a 6th, IF he makes the chase.

lol you junior fans really think getting a new crew chief is going to make him a better driver? will mcgrew help jr. find his pit stall or something? looks like teresa was right all along when she said dale needs to decide if he wants to be a rock star or a racecar driver...apparently he prefers the former

he seems 100x more interested in hanging out at whiskey river than he does in driving cup races

fuck DEI or to be politicaly correct EGR, whats their best finish this year. jr ran good with that group. sucks he blew a motor or tire with 5 laps to go every time he raced with him. everyone who knows nascar knows he would have a title if he didnt cuss 3 years ago at the end of the race when he won daytona.

FUCK KYLE BUSCH after what that fag said about the entire team. your 78905 wins last year didnt mean a fucking thing cause you sucked at 5 out of the 10 races in the chase last year.

I fucking put money on the next time those two cars get together going into a turn kyle wont know what hit him, then i cant wait for kyle to bitch and moan about how he put me into the wall because im a bitch.

This is the exact reason I dont go for that fag.

my fantasy drivers this week are gonna be off the fucking charts. nobody qualified in the top 10. I hope to get at least 245 points

i got 359 last week and finally won a week...this week i got kyle, vickers and jpm in the top 10 with hornish at 12th

^i think you're fooling yourself if you don't think theres some merit in what teresa said even though at the time she seemed like the fool...junior doesnt seem like he gets excited for races, he doesn't seem like he has the will to want to win, when he know supposedly has all the best equipment and technology...seems like he's clearly the 4th best driver for hendrick which is sad considering mark martin is 95 years old
