I have been waiting since the first one came out for the 2nd one and it did not disappoint. I absolutely loved this movie and thought it was better than the first. His parents in this movie were hilarious.

"Five Decepticons sink to the bottom of the ocean to retrieve Megatron's corpse. A submarine tracks five "subjects" going down, and when they get there, one of the Decepticons is killed to give parts to Megatron. 5 -1 +1 = 5, right? No, because the sub somehow tracks "six" subjects coming up. Not only is this very basic math, this is the simplest of script errors. It could not possibly have been more than one page apart in the script. And yet Michael Bay either didn't care to notice or didn't give a fuck. "Math? Math is for pussies. My movies are about shit blowing up, man.""

^ I might have missed it .. but I never noticed them killing one to give the parts to him.

I thought they just used that piece they stole from the chamber(that guy that came from all the balls that the lion threw up down the tube) and they used that to bring him back.

That would be 5 down then 6 up..

^^^ The script was correct. Contact reporting procedures would have seen 6 on the way up regardless of whether one contact goes quiet or not.

^^The comic book fanboys at my school basically said "it's not a bad movie if you mute the TV and enjoy the special effects"

No idea, but I didn't like that movie at all. I did like Transformers 2. That's usually the criteria I go by to determine whether it's a "fun summer movie" or a "crappy summer movie"

batman is a well established, interesting character. Transformers are toys. The expectation for a good batman movie is much higher than that of a movie about toys.

I remember it. The doc robot said "kill the little one, we need his parts" and the little one made this sad sound and they ripped him apart! Such a girl thing to remember but it made me sad for like 2 seconds.

Haven't seen the movie but I though that "Prime" was a title that was conferred upon you, not a last name.

i thought it was quite super.

and im pretty sure half of you bitching about the movie didnt watch it ... how do you miss the parents being caught ? how do you completely ignore optimus died 3v1 ...

how can you not follow the fight scenes ? the robots are fucking color coded.

and i noticed the thing about devestator, but i think the green guy fighting the army was a diff green guy than the one on devestators arm.

I decided not to read this entire thread. My bad.

I'm fine with the concept of "mindless action" and "Michael Bay movies," and I think it's all in good fun. But there are some things that should've been worked on.
In the beginning, a lot of the camera moves were too similar. Optimus' dialogue made him a weaker character, and a push-over. The storyline didn't pick up until 30 minutes in at least. Sam's Mom was not acting high, she had way too much energy for that. In some shots, the lighting was coming from 2 different directions (and they were outside--we only have one sun!). Some cheapo graphics moments--though I realize the cost for constant beautiful robots. Not to mention the overreaching "oh well, it's a movie, roll with it" moments---when they were dropped in the car from the helicopter. They all would've died. And when Megatron was tossing Sam around that warehouse--SOMETHING would've broken lol.

Desert fighting rocked.

Overall, I liked it and it's great. First one was better. And the things that bothered me were technical or story/edit stuff.

Also--when crazy robot hot chick got into the car with Sam, why would Bumblebee not have recognized that she was an enemy? Wouldn't he have detected that?

[Edited on July 19, 2009 at 9:50 PM. Reason : lol at color coded robots.]

Quite a fun flick.

Too long, its definitely moved into a lull in the middle.

All scense with Optimus were badass.

Youre a blind invalid if you had trouble following what was going on in those fights. An absolute moron.

No one mentions the politics of this movie
they mension "obama" as the president, then say the administration "has not ruled out" trading the boy for peace with the decepticons
i thought that was treasonous, if you are going to use the president and give him characteristics he would never have then you should be sued for defamation
i for one will not reward micheal bay with any more of my money

not to mention its advocation of torture, where megan fox torches the robot's eyes then says if you tell us the info we wont do that again, then the robot becomes their friend
