Hate to say it - but does anyone think that by joining a conference that was basically a step down football-wise, that FSU ultimately doomed themselves into relative mediocrity. Four or five years of domination (based on far superior talent), but then the conference and players caught up.

F$U should have stayed where they were...

They were a powerhouse every year until the 2000's. Since, they have been merely a top tier team in the conference (top 4)

If their primary goal was to share in the 750K prize pool that is the PapaJohns.com bowl, then yes, they accomplished that.

If their goal was to remain a football contender, they failed miserably.

And I am way too lazy to reseach this shit to find out previous stats - all I know is that as a state fan, I assumed losses to FSU for years and thought them untouchable.

Now, I assume we should contend every year. A contender for the national title should not have trouble beating NCSU (particularly this year)
