russell originally got his arm from running onto a football field and slipping on a football, landing on his arm awkwardly

he then was a great passer, but sometime between the Pitt game and the Wake game, he tripped on another football, negating all his passing skill

It's a pretty cool procedure that has been around for some years now, but just recently has gotten more common. There is an initial surgery to harvest the patient's cartilage, which is then sent to a lab where they grow it up in a petri dish. Then when there is enough they go back in, place a sheet over the area where the cartilage was ripped off of the knee, then inject the cartilage under the sheet. I mean it's a little more complicated then that, but that's basically what they do.
