i think we played like shit tonight. to only lose by 8 on the road to an ACC team really isn't a bad result.

that being said, i am optimistic of our potential. i'm NOT saying we are going to be good, but if we play as well as we can, i think we'll do OK.

there's only so much you can do when the other team doesnt even have to play well -- they just have to jump over you and tip balls their way. all those missed layups and blocks because our guys just can't go up and dunk it.

The typical way you beat superior talent is with shooting. we don't have that, either.

i mean, yeah, i think if we were to play as well as we can we would beat most teams we play this year. that's why we will get the occasional W. The problem is that we are so inconsistent that we rarely live up to whatever potential we have. Frustrating is hardly the word.

The key to this season is holding serve for as long as possible on ACC home games and then stealing 1-2 ACC road games to get right around that 8-8 mark.

losing on the road by 8 in an ACC game, especially after playing as poorly as we did, really isn't bad at all

one thing i didn't like was the body language/effort from some of the players (Painter/Degand especially)

yea, i figured we would split with wake again this year because they basically dont have a coach but its going to be tough when they have like 5 legitimate ACC big men and we have 1 (horner is an ACC player this year but he cant rebound/bang down low)

Yeah, we still dont have a 'bad' loss on the season. Not thrilled. We would have been in this game if our players can hit a damned free throw. I mean, its really bad. We got spoiled through the Herb years with consistently good free throw shooting.

It's basic basketball -- shooting counters talent. The team that has both is going to win a lot of shit. We have neither.

We just don't have a goto guy on this team. We've got way to many role players and no scorers. Javi is the only one that actually looks like he should be on the court the rest of them, williams, painter, degand, howell, etc. wouldn't hardly get PT at a junior college.
